"Her method is not to teach, but to guide. She will listen carefully - challenge - and guide us in coming to our own conclusions. The dynamic quality of that guidance indicates her own depth of knowledge and comprehension, and her determination to influence definite, accurate thinking in us. We, her students, find her an inspiration."

and to MR. WILSON, FOR YOUR SPIRIT"

Miss Wise was indeed an inspiration. I was blessed to have her teach me Advanced World History during my senior year. I remember clearly how she constantly strove to have us think, rather than just to absorb information. Her classes were always both challenging and fascinating.

She was also fun and frequently did the unexpected thing. She was tall - about six feet. I am short - 5' 2-1/4". Once at the end of a long day we found ourselves walking the same hall together. She came alongside me and rested her left elbow on my right shoulder, the better to hold up her head - all without missing a beat in our conversation. What a delightful woman she was!
