Thanks, Sydney!

A while back there was some discussion of the Dairy Queen on the corner of Hickory Avenue and 25th Street.  In the same block of 25th Street on the corner of Pear Avenue was a soda shop that was run by a Mr. and Mrs. Evans.  It was the local teen hangout for the neighborhood.  Does anyone out there remember the name of that soda shop?  It may be as simple as the Evans Soda Shop but I think it might have had another name, possibly a two letter name.

Thank you, Sydney! While I have many vivid and varied memories of my beloved Dairy Queen, they do not extend
to a nearby soda shop, so this is but another question we'll need to turn over to the rest of the class.
"Anyone? Anyone?"

It's possible that the reason you don't remember the Evans Soda Shop at 25th Street and Pear Avenue is that perhaps it was closed by the time you were going to the Dairy Queen.  I was frequenting the Soda Shop from about 1951 to 1956 when I graduated.  I don't know how long it may have remained open after that.  I was after all, a major contributor to their business (ha, ha).

Thanks again, Sydney! I'm hoping some one else will remember - at least to confirm your question of its name.

I should remember the soda shop on the corner of Pear Avenue and 25th Street but do not recall it...of course Pear was
the beginning of HAMPTON...maybe that is why!

Thanks anyway, Jean!
