Y’all have great memories, but my mind is like a sieve, especially when it comes
to locations.  I do remember a corner drug store in Phoebus which made great limeades – or lime freezes similar to those which are now available at Steak and Shake.  Great.  Now I don’t even remember which is was.  GRRRRR!  Anyway,
once a month, Mama and Eleanor and I would stop in there and we’d all have one.
The waitress bore an amazing resemblance to Ellen Corby, who appeared
in It’s a Wonderful Life (1946) with Jimmy Stewart, and later gained probably
her greatest fame as Grandma Walton on the TV show.
Any idea if this is the SAME corner drug store?  The Mallory and East County Street location wouldn’t help me at all.
This is a pre-1960 memory for me………..

The drug store and lunch room was across the street from Fuller's.
It had green tile on the face of the building, but I cannot recall the name right now.

AHA!  That might explain my fascination for green tiles!
Thanks, Joe!  Keep going and you just might be able to reconstruct ALL my missing memories!

I recall Phoebus being referred to as "Little Chicago", probably due to a crime element existing there in its past.
I expect some of us oldtimers will recall that, so this (Theme from The Untouchables) may be the MIDI to use.

Thanks, Dave!  Of course it is!

I just called my sister, Eleanor (Buckley Nowitzky - '59 of NC) about this crucial matter.
She said Mama and I might have gone to that green-tiled drug store once a month,
but she thinks that she herself only went there ONCE!  And she doesn't remember the limeades!  ARGHHH!
Will someone please get my mother on the phone?  SHE remembers all these details!
Oh, yeah.  That could prove tricky, hmmm....
