Mrs. Rose E. W. Groff

STEVENSVILLE, Md. --- Mrs. Rose Elizabeth Woodard Groff, 36, of Stevensville, died Sunday, October 14, 1984 in Anne Arundel General Hospital, Annapolis.

   She was born on November 21, 1947 in Newport News and had lived there most of her life before moving to Maryland.  She was a member of the Class of 1965 of Newport News High School, and graduated in 1968 from North Carolina Wesleyan College, Rocky Mount.  She was a member Kent Island, Maryland Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

   She retired in February 1984 as special assistant  to the Assistant Secretary of Policy, Development and Research for HUD in Washington, D.C., after eight years.

   Survivors include her husband, Raymond Michael Groff; and her parents, Thurman and Edith S. Woodard of Newport News.

   A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Peninsula Memorial Park Newport News, by the Rev. J. Walter Martin.

   The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Peninsula Funeral Home in Newport News.

   The family is at the home of her parents, 119 Tuckahoe Drive, Newport News.
