================================================

In regards to Joel Frank--I also have wondered what happened to Joel--he was one of a kind for sure-the last time I saw him was at the sandwich shop he owned in downtown NN and around that time I moved to Texas (1992). My fondest memories of Joel were that whenever I went to a party--private or public, local or out of town, from high school and on-all I had to do was look around the room and I would find Joel standing there with a grin-and in the most unexpected circumstances and I loved it.

Fellow Typhoons:  My Classmate, Gilmore Kirby í64, passed away on 25 Nov 1998. An old Army buddy of his recently learned of his death by searching the Internet and landing on our NNHS web site. They had not been in contact since 1968.

 I was contacted by the buddy and asked if I knew the cause of death. I replied that I did not, but I offered to query the Alumni in hopes that someone does know. If you have this information, please e-mail me at nnhs64@cox.net.

- Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA - 12/30/07

Today would have been my dad's (Gilmore H. Kirby, Jr.) birthday. In Googling him I found your site looking
for his cause of death and asking if anyone knew. He died of throat cancer after about a six year battle.
Just thought I'd pass that along. Thanks!

- Anna Boyer - 09/18/13
Thank you so much, Anna!

Killed in Accident

I want to share this about Tom.
We met through my church and became very good friends.  He was driving his motorcycle on the way to summer school in Hampton.
In those days there was no helmet law.  At the intersection of Kecoughtan Road and Ivy Home Road, a car ran the stop sign, and Tom's bike hit the car.  I was devastated over his untimely senseless death.  It was an awesome service
at his Lutheran church.  To this day, I have not heard a better memorial.  I will always remember his sweetness.
