Thanks, Dave!

... We were very lucky to have gone to Newport News High.  I remember eating at The Dog House restaurant
as well as Woolworth's and
Antine’s.  I enjoyed shopping downtown.  I miss the old downtown area.
It looked like a ghost town complete with a tumbleweed rolling down the street, the last time I walked near La Vogue.

YOWZERS!!!  Thanks, Barbara!

The comment about THE DOG HOUSE brought back a vivid memory for me.

It was 1966 and I was leaving NNHS to eat lunch at the Dog House. As I was leaving the front hall 2 guys started
whistling and "cat calling". They were John Howard and Tommy Jenkins! Little did I know I would marry
John 3 years later and Tommy would be in our wedding!

And there it began! What a sweet memory! Thanks for sharing that with us, Cheryl!

Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener.
That is what I'd truly like to be,
'Cause if I were an Oscar Mayer wiener,
Everyone would be in love with me.
