Thanks, Tom!

We lived on 25th street in an apartment across from Harley Davidsonís
and my mother worked in the Betty Lewis Bakery on 25th Street.
I occupied my playtime in many of the businesses there on 25th,
including the Daily Press building when the presses were running.
There were horse stables on 24th Street that had been used for the Newport News Mounted Police Department.
In fact, for many years a watering trough was in front of the old
red bricked courthouse that I floated boats in.

Thanks, Kelly!

I hope you can figure out a way to emit the smell of fresh bread baking when you post Betty Lewis Bakery on the website.
Then again, imagination is powerful enough to conjure up that smell again.

I Need You

(The Beatles)

You donít realize how much I need you,
Love you all the time and never leave you,
Please come back to me, Iím lonely as can be.
Said you had a thing or two to tell me,
How was I to know you would upset me.
I didnít realize as I looked in your eyes, I need you.
You told me, oh yes you told me
You donít want my loviní anymore.
Thatís when it hurt me and feeling like this
I just donít go on anymore.
Please remember how I feel about you,
I could never really live without you,
So, come on back and see
Just what you mean to me
I need you I need you.

This (song) will be sumpin' of a riddle for your subscribers.

As Adonis pointed out, the smell memory of bread is exceptionally strong.
The mere mention of baking bread sets off those virtual odors in your mind,
and you find yourself craving a slice of bread hot from the oven and slathered in pure creamery butter.
One can see how the very recognizable Beatle's song "I Need You" might apply here.
On that basis alone, it will be understood.

Some of your readers may think of another "bread" connection
which makes this selection even more poignant for a bakery.
Have you guessed it yet?
