One street over from Warwick Gardens was where I grew up...Betsy Lee Gardens.

I lived there (for the most part) from the time I came home from Riverside Hospital in 1951 until I sold the house in June of 2006. This is the area bordered by Briarfield Road, Jefferson Avenue, Marshall Avenue, and Warwick Gardens.

The class of 1970 classmates refer to ourselves as the Ellen Road good guys.  There were the Caldwell sisters, (Debbie in our class). Wayne Mallory '66 (his sister Susan in our class).  Roger Warf '66 "Ellen", Carol Warf '67 "Ellen", Nancy Sosebee '67 "Decatur Street", Janice Poole '66 "Decatur", Nathan Sosebee "Decatur", Dianne Adams '65 "Decatur", Alan Jones '69 "Ellen", Tommy Comer '67 "Ellen", Carol Comer '70, Charles Comer '71, Brenda Price '70 "Ellen",  Warren Crisp '70 "Ellen", Jimmy Dinwiddie '67 "Greenway", Donnie Carter '68 "Greenway",  Charles Morgan '67 "Temple?", Jerry Smith '68 "Ellen",  Emily Calhoun '69 "Ellen".  There were also (5) Prevatte sisters (Linda '70) who lived on Temple Lane.

There were probably many more, but considering my age...the memory isn't totally gone!!

Our House

- Graham Nash

 I'll light the fire
You put the flowers in the vase
 That you bought today

 Staring at the fire
 For hours and hours
 While I listen to you
 Play your love songs
 All night long for me
 Only for me

 Come to me now
And rest your head for just five minutes
 Everything is good
 Such a cosy room
 The windows are illuminated
 By the sunshine *dudes* and
 Fiery gems for you
 Only for you

Our house is a very, very fine house
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
 Now everything is easy
 'Cause of you
 And our la,la,la, la,la etc

 I'll light the fire
And you place the flowers in the jar
 That you bought today
