ATTENTION CLASS OF 1964:

BIRTHDAY CRUISE RESERVATION DEADLINE IS 20 SEPTEMBER.

I just reviewed my contract with the Spirit of Norfolk. I must give them the final attendee count and final payment no later than 23 September. That means that I must receive your reservation and check no later than 20 September.

However, keep in mind that I cannot guarantee you a seat, after the first 40 seats are reserved.

BOTTOM LINE: Send your reservation now, if you want to be assured of a seat.

Thanks, Dave!

CLASS OF 1964:

I am pleased to report that I have received the first reservations for our birthday celebration cruise on the Spirit of Norfolk on Saturday, 23 October. The first non-Committee member reservation to be received was not from Newport News or Hampton or even from Virginia. Moreover, it was not from any of the states contiguous to Virginia. That honor goes to Suzanne Van Noy Mink, who will be travelling all the way from Ohio to join us.

In addition to Suzanne’s reservation, I received one from Committee member Sandi Williams Patrick for her and husband Harlee. Oh, yeah … I signed up as well. So, we have filled 4 of the 40 seats for which we are committed.

The first 40 paid reservations which we receive are guaranteed a seat.  After that, upon receipt of paid reservations, we will continue to add to our attendance number as long as space is available. This means that you cannot wait too long to send us your reservation and check. Once all of the seats are filled, we will have to return your reservation and check to you. That is why we have not set the customary deadline for submission of reservations. We cannot know when all spaces will be taken. SO, ACT NOW TO ENSURE YOUR PLACE WITH US.

Thanks, Dave!

ATTENTION CLASS OF 1964:

IF YOU WERE UNABLE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR BIRTHDAY CRUISE BY SEPTEMBER 20TH,
YOU CAN STILL JOIN US. IT IS NOT TOO LATE.

EVEN THOUGH WE HAD TO LOCK IN OUR FINAL NUMBER OF SEATS,
WE CAN STILL RESERVE ADDITIONAL SEATS AT OUR GROUP RATE OF $75.00 PER PERSON,
WHILE SEATS REMAIN AVAILABLE.

WE WILL REACH THE AGE OF 64 ONLY ONCE, SO DO NOT MISS THIS GALA CELEBRATION.

IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND, CONTACT DAVE SPRIGGS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Sea Cruise

Written by Huey "Piano" Smith (b. 26 June 1934) and Frankie Ford (b.), 1959.

Now old man rhythm is in my shoes, it’s no use sittin’ here singin’ the blues,
So be my guest, you got nothin’ to lose, won’t you let me take you on a sea cruise?
Ooowee, ooowee baby, ooowee, ooowee baby,
Ooowee, ooowee baby! won’t you let me take you on a sea cruise?

I feel like jumpin’ and honey won’t you join me please, yeah.
Well I don’t like beggin’ but now I’m gonna bend a knee, oh yeah.

Well I gotta get a-movin’ honey, I ain’t lyin’,
My heart is beating the rhythm and it’s right on time.
So be my guest, you got nothin’ to lose, won’t you let me take you on a sea cruise?
Ooowee, ooowee baby, ooowee, ooowee mama,
Ooowee, ooowee baby! won’t you let me take you on a sea cruise?

Well I gotta get-a-rockin’, get my hat off the rack,
I gotta boogie-woogie like a knot’s in my back,
So be my guest, you got nothin’ to lose, won’t you let me take you on a sea cruise?
Ooowee, ooowee baby, ooowee, ooowee baby,
Ooowee, ooowee baby! won’t you let me take you on a sea cruise?

I feel like jumpin’ and honey won’t you join me please, yeah.
Well I don’t like beggin’ but now I’m gonna bend a knee, oh yeah.

Ooowee, ooowee baby, ooowee, ooowee mama,
Ooowee, ooowee baby! won’t you let me take you on a sea cruise?

Won’t you let me take you on a sea cruise?
Won’t you let me take you on a sea cruise?
I’m goin’, I’m goin’, I’m goin’ on a sea sea cruise,
Let me take you on a sea cruise na na.
