 Terry, Courtney and Chris,

I'm so sad to hear about Gordon's passing. He will be missed by all of us and by the community at large. He was a long time supporter of the Boys and Girls Club and his "acting skills" were perfect for the Hilton Junior Woman's Club dinner theaters. He always made me laugh.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Love to you all,
Annie

Nearer, My God, to Thee

Words by Sarah Flower Adams (22 Feb 1805 - 14 Aug 1848), based loosely on Genesis 28:1119,[1], 1841
Music (Bethany) by
Lowell Mason (08 Jan 1792 11 Aug 1872), 1856

Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
yet in my dreams I'd be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

There let the way appear, steps unto heaven;
all that thou sendest me, in mercy given;
angels to beckon me
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Then, with my waking thoughts bright with thy praise,
out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise;
so by my woes to be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Or if, on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
