Dear Friends and Schoolmates,   

   Sad news has returned to us.  Stella H. Bourlotos, mother of    Natassa Bourlotos Call ('65) of VA and of Irene Bourlotos Matzgannis of VA, passed away in Hampton on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007 at the age of 85.

  HAMPTON - Stavroula 'Stella' H. Bourlotos, 85, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007.

A native of Elika, Greece, she had been a Hampton resident for 45 years. She was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Harry G. Bourlotos; two daughters, Natassa B. Call and husband, Thomas, and Irene Matzgannis and husband, Michael, all of Newport News; three grandchildren, Kristian Matzgannis and wife, Kate, of Virginia Beach, Harry T. Call and wife, Elizabeth, of Sterling and Thomas Michael Call and wife, Margaret, of Washington, D.C.; and numerous loving relatives in the U.S. and Greece.

A special thanks to Dr. Harriett Jones and Dr. J.P. Jones for their loving care shown to the Bourlotos family. Also a special thanks to the Newport News Nursing and Rehabilitation staff.

A Trisagion Prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Peninsula Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, officiated by Father George Chioros and Father Peter H. Makris. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 9221 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, VA 23235.

Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
