Dear
Friends and Schoolmates,
We have
yet more sad news today.
Ellamae Holloway Hall, mother of Stephany Hall Williams ('68) of
VA, Merry Ann Hall Clifton ('71) of VA, Lloyd Hall of VA, James E.
Hall, Jr. of VA, Jon-david Hall of VA, and of Burrell R. Hall, Sr. of VA, passed away
suddenly on Friday, November 30, 2007 at her home in Clifton Forge
at the age of 78.
From Christine Wilson Starkman ('68) of CA - 12/10/07 - "Ellamae Hall":
Dear Carol,
Stephany Hall (NNHS '68) is my good friend and fellow classmate. She
gave me permission to forward this to you for the newsletter. I spent
many happy hours in the Hall home on 60th Street. Mrs. Hall was like a
second mother to me. She was a lively, vibrant woman who always made me
feel at home among her brood of six children. I will miss her.
Thank you,
Chris

Chris, I'm so
sorry I missed running this earlier. I remember reading the account in the
Daily Press on December 6, but did not recognize the name or make the
connection. I'm very sorry for the loss of your friend; thank you for
letting us know.
From Stephany Hall Williams ('68) of VA - 12/05/07 - "Ellamae Hall obituary":
Hello Friends,
My mom passed away November 30. It was very sudden, and she went to Glory very
peacefully and gently. I believe the obituary attached is from the Clifton
Forge paper, however there will be another one in the Daily Press on Thursday,
December 6th.
A memorial service will be held at West Hampton Baptist Church Chapel, on
Saturday the 8th at 10 am. Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park
cemetery, and a fellowship for family and friends will begin at 1 pm at the
Poquoson Community Center on Odd Road.
I will get back to you all soon, as you might expect it has been a very busy and
draining time, BUT the Lord is faithful each day with new and tender mercies.
Love to you all,
Stephany
Stephany, I am so sorry to learn of your mother's passing. Although I didn't have the pleasure of personally knowing her, she sounds like a wonderful woman.

Amazing Grace
Words by John Newton, 1779
Amazing grace! (how sweet
the sound)
That sav'd a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev'd;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ'd!
Thro' many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promis'd good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call'd me here below,
Will be forever mine.
