Happy Holidays to you and yours, and all Typhoon everywhere!
YIKES! Yes, ma'am, of course it should! Thanks for catching that, Shirley! It seems my sleeping habits have been seriously compromised this week; instead of getting eight hours of sleep at night, I've been waking up in the middle of the night, sleeping three or five hours here or there, separated by three or five hours of working pretty much in my sleep, zombie style. Or in other words, things have become, uh, seriously messed up!
Speaking of which.....
From Dimples Dinwiddie Prichard ('58) of NC - 12/11/09 - "Thank you, Dave":
In today's Newsletter Dave Spriggs ('64 - of VA) made me 10 years younger ( Class of '68). I just want him to know how much better
I feel ! Thanks, Dave !!
I had to pull the Newsletter from the SPAM box again, all the while humming a tune to that new dance I am learning....The "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot !"
Dimples aka Sepi
GIGGLES! Thanks, Dimples - MY blooper, not David's! (See above note about working in my sleep...)
From Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA - 12/11/09 - "FUBAR, et.al.":
For mixed company, FUBAR becomes “Fouled Up Beyond All
Recognition”. Similarly, SNAFU becomes “Situation Normal, All Fouled Up”.
Ask Paul (Harty - Bardolph HS, IL - '61 - of IL) if he remembers these: BOHICA; FIGMO; DILLIGAF; DILLIGAS
A common Navy variation of WTF is WTFO. It evolved from the reply to an especially confusing or infuriating voice radio transmission … as in: “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over.”
Don’t even get me started on Falcon Codes, which originated with aviators.
And be sure to tell Sepi (Dimples Dinwiddie Prichard - '58 - of NC) that I am not the one who appends NNHS Class and current location to every name in the Newsletter. I did not make her 10 years younger.
WILD GIGGLES! Thank you, Captain!
From Linda May Bond Crayton ('66) of VA - 12/11/09 - "Fubar":
First time I heard that word was in 1989 in the movie, 'Tango and Cash' with Stallone and Russell.
I'm sure our movie geniuses can give you more in put. As I remember it Cash tells Tango about it in the laundry of the prison just before Cash gets hard boiled.
Lots of Laughs
Linda May '66
MORE GIGGLES! Thanks, Linda May!
From My Friend, Judy Bundy Bowermaster (Litchfield HS, IL - '59) of IL - 12/11/09 - "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!":
This is cool!
Give it a go!!!!
Type in any
Christmas song and see what the finger puppets do.
Also, type in any non-Christmas song and you'll get a kick out of the response.
They also get mixed up sometimes and sing the wrong one....
OH, SO CUTE! Thanks, Judy!
From Joyce Lawrence Cahoon ('65) of VA - 12/11/09 - "Are You Ready?":
ARE YOU READY ?????
YIKES! No, not really, no! Thanks, Joyce!

From Dale Lucado ('68) of VA - 12/11/09 - "WHITE CHRISTMAS":
An animated Christmas classic, by Santa and his reindeer; they serenade us
with their rendition of
White Christmas as preformed by Clyde McPhatter and The Drifters.
GIGGLES! Thanks, Dale - and Merry Christmas to you, too!
From Jane Chambers of VA - 07/01/09 - "CNC BOOK BROCHURE & AD":
Contact Dr. Chambers at email@example.com.
From ArcaMax Jokes - 12/11/09:

Alma Redemptoris Mater
Loving Mother of our Savior
Ascribed to Hermannus Contractus, d.1054
Redemptoris Mater, quae pervia caeli
Porta manes, et stella maris, succurre cadenti,
Surgere qui curat, populo: tu quae genuisti,
Natura mirante, tuum sanctum Genitorem
Virgo prius ac posterius, Gabrielis ab ore
Sumens illud Ave, peccatorum miserere.
Loving Mother of our Savior, hear thou thy people's cry
Mother of Him who thee made from nothing made.
Sinking we strive and call to thee for aid:
Oh, by what joy which Gabriel brought to thee,
Thou Virgin first and last, let us thy mercy see.
