I remember "Sister" also from the Suburban Clinic and being a nurse there and getting to know her, Arthur, Sonny and Mrs. Greene. Even though it has been years since I have seen her I really enjoyed your family they were always so much fun and made me laugh. "Sister" really enjoyed a good laugh and I know she is keeping them all entertained in Heaven.

Terry, Timmy and family, We are saddened to hear of the passing of "Sister". I have so many memories of her. First as your partners in mischief and music and then as fellow square dancers up here in the country where Celina, my wife and Claudia, my daughter got to know her. She was special. We will all miss hearing her laugh. Love Mike and Celina

From Jean Poole Burton ('64) of RI - 11/13/06:

Hi Carol,

The music to the hymn "Come, Ye Disconsolate" literally gives me goose bumps.  Years ago I sent someone a sympathy card and the verse was, "Earth hath no sorrow that heaven cannot heal".  The recipient loved it and thanked me profusely.  I did not know for years where it came from until you used that hymn in the newsletters.  It amazes me how our higher power works.   Well...duh...why should it amaze me?  But it does and has and continues to......

 Love, Jeanb

Thank you, Jean.  Whenever I find a Memorial edition is needed, I walk away for a few minutes, and quite often the music for the page will pop into my head.  Sometimes it will be the tune; more often it will be a phrase from the hymn.  This time I did not know Sister Burris, and I was more than a bit concerned that whatever I chose would be appropriate.   But yesterday a phrase came into my mind quite clearly - "Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal."

Thank you so much for sharing that story!

Y'all take good care of each other!  TYPHOONS FOREVER!  We'll Always Have Buckroe!

                          Love to all, Carol

Come, Ye Disconsolate

Words by Thomas Moore; alt. by Thomas Hastings
Music by Samuel Webbe

Come, ye disconsolate, where'er ye languish.
Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel.
Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish;
Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

Joy of the desolate, light of the straying,
Hope of the penitent, fadeless and pure!
Here speaks the Comforter, tenderly saying,
"Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot cure."

Here see the bread of life; waters flowing
Forth from the throne of God, pure from above.
Come to the feast of love; come, ever knowing
Earth has no sorrow but heaven can remove.
