“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

In life Mandy Rowden tends to follow her instincts and passions and that's also her approach to songwriting. Rowden's work contains both vulnerability and determination; it's derived from a woman who's had her share of heartbreak and ecstasy. Regardless of the moment and capturing a particular feeling, for Rowden, music is always about getting back to where she began as a young girl. "I just love playing," she says. "As long as my hands and voice work, I just want to keep entertaining people, and if something I write or say influences someone positively, then that's a bonus!"

Darby is a combat veteran who has completed four tours in Southwest Asia. During his tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Darby formed the 3 Rivers Band with fellow soldiers and soon found himself entertaining troops at local concerts in Iraq. When the Charlie Daniels Band performed on the USO Tour, Darby and his band members were chosen to share the stage with him. As Darby has continued to travel and perform, his connection with military audiences has remained strong. Darby describes the National Guard as his family and when he's on stage it's evident that he takes pride in representing that family. Darby's songwriting efforts have placed him alongside some of Nashville's finest songwriters who have penned songs for Aaron Tippin, George Strait, Kenny Chesney and Tracy Byrd.

WOWZERS! Thank you, Terry! Y'all have fun!

Fresh Green Thanksgiving Décor Ideas - "Green color is not typical for Thanksgiving décor but why not use this fresh in all senses idea? Green tablecloths, napkins, table runners and candleholders are necessary elements for the table décor, and then the most interesting part begins: take green plants, branches, leaves, apples and other fruits and vegetables to decorate the space. Such a place would look amazingly fresh, fine and original. Make some easy moss or peas balls for mantel décor, add some green pumpkins or just paint them the shade you like. Candles inside green pumpkins and even food are awesome ideas to please the guests. Scroll down to get inspired by more amazing green Thanksgiving décor ideas!"

BONUS FALL AND CHRISTMAS CROCHET PATTERNS: - Thanksgiving Turkey Appliqué - Cindy Harris' Christmas Characters

BONUS RECIPES (Sorry; not theme-related): - Country Tar Heel Pie - "Take a trip to the country side and try Country Tar Heel Pie. A wonderful blend of all natural flavors, you won't be able to deny its awesome flavors. With chocolate chips and chopped pecans, it will become a family favorite that you'll want to make for every potluck and holiday season. Easy to make, it's a pie recipe that is perfect when you need a dessert on the fly. Enjoy!" - Homemade Chicken Stock (Crockpot) - "When it comes to making it yourself, chicken stock is one of those things that you may be tempted to say "why bother?" It's pretty cheap to buy, and the store-bought version is fine to use in most capacities. However, once you make your own, you'll definitely see the difference. Homemade stock is rich and flavorful. And what's even better - it's practically free to make. Here's my M.O. Whenever I roast a chicken or buy a rotisserie chicken, I pick all the meat and skin off, put the carcass in a big ziploc bag, and throw it in the freezer. I also save any scraps of veggies and throw them in the freezer as well - bits of carrot, that half of an onion that I didn't need, celery that's on it's last leg... you get the picture. I usually wait to make the stock until I have two chicken carcasses. Just to get more bang for my buck."
