Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?

“When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am
with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means that you
can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand
between us. It means that if we meet again, you will know me.”

Frederick Buechner
(b. 11 July 1926)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

From Joe Madagan ('57) of FL - 11/08/17 - "Thanks for remembering my Birthday":

Hi, TYPHOON Conduit:

Thank you for remembering my Birthday. I am grateful the Lord has permitted me to live another year, and trusting He will use me this year, Big 78, for His Glory.

I am attaching a photo of me in USMC Uniform taken on the Open Bridge of the USS BOXER (LPH-4) at anchor in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Perhaps you would do me a favor and use this photo to replace the one on the right of my profile on your website.

That photo causes "heartburn" for a FEW of my Marine friends who have asked me why there is no belt on my Dress Blue Uniform. At the time, I was heading out to march in a Parade in Newport News and would wear a harness in order to carry Old Glory in the parade. The occasion was the rededication of the War Memorial on West Avenue. This explains why I appear to be "Out Of Uniform" at the time. So if you will remove that old photo, it might end some of the "Incoming" from my fellow Grunt Marines.

In the attached photo, I had turned in my side arm, and was just relieved of duty with the Captain.

Enough military history of this old guy! Thank You.
TYPHOON Regards,
Joe Madagan ('57) of FL

WILD GIGGLES! Certainly, Adonis! I wouldn't want to cause the Marines any consternation, especially with their 242nd Birthday so near!

From Jerry Blanchard ('62) of VA - 11/07/16:

SO SADLY TRUE! Thank you, Jerry!

Instead of getting married again, I’m going to find a woman I don’t like and just give her a house.”

Candles Inspirations For Your Thanksgiving - "Candles always bring a feeling of coziness and relaxation as burning fire is one of the most pleasant sights in the world. Your Thanksgiving party or a family dinner will look cool if you take these candle inspirations into consideration. You can make a beautiful composition or a centerpiece of usual candles and some accessories like golden jars, pears, tall glass vases of truly autumn colors. You can put the candles into candle holders and place them on the table using colorful candles or decorating the candleholders with corn, wreaths and some flowers. Don’t forget of fruit and vegetables! Put the candles into apples or small pumpkins, decorate the candles with peas, leaves or corn. You can also use some candles in the shapes of pumpkins or leaves. From - 11/07/16:

As the bus pulled away, a woman realized she had left her purse under the seat. Later she called the company and was relieved to find out the driver had found it. When she went to pick it up, several off-duty bus drivers greeted her.

One of the men handed over her handbag and a box. "We're required to inventory found wallets and purses," he explained. "I think you'll find everything here."

As she started to put her belongings back into the purse, the man continued, "I hope you don't mind if we watch. Even though we all tried, none of us could fit everything into your purse... and we'd like to see just HOW you do it."

Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?

Recorded by
Ray Charles (23 Sept 1930 - 10 June 2004), 1984

Do I ever cross your mind
Darlin' do you ever see
Some situation somewhere, somehow
Triggers your memory
And do you ever wonder
What became of all the time
And darlin' do I ever, ever cross your mind

Do you ever want to know
If all dreams go on endlessly
Or do they just run down
Somehow and gradually become
The custody of that melancholy jailer father time
And darlin' do I ever, ever cross your mind
Do I ever cross your mind
uninvited - when you're lonely
Or does that only, only happen to me
And don't you ever wonder
What became of all the time
And darlin' do I ever, ever cross your mind

Do I ever cross your mind
Uninvited when you're lonely
Or does that only, only happen to me
And don't you ever wonder
What became of all the time
And darlin' do I ever, ever cross your mind
And darlin' do I ever, ever cross your mind
