This is my daughter Laura's dog in a contest to be on the cover of a bag of dog food.

Vote every day for Grace. Thanks.

Oh, Laura is your daughter, Norris! Well, that makes it all the more important!

YIKESARONI-RINI-ROONI!   Grace's ratings have dropped considerably since I left town and stopped nagging you!!!  The last time I checked Grace had 4014 votes and Dollar had 6347 votes. This just cannot be allowed to continue!!! Y'all "git back to work!"

Vote early, vote often (or at least cast your allotted daily vote)!!!

From Domi O'Brien ('64) of NH - 10/31/10 - "Souling Song": - Halloween Music - "Souling Song - Samhain Version" - Kristen Lawrence

   Thanks, Domi, that's really lovely!

Oh, HEY! Thanks to your educating us on Druidry, I actually caught a blooper the other night on Criminal Minds - something I never, ever do! In their Halloween episode (Devil's Night - broadcast 10/27/10), the character of Dr. Spencer Reid played by Matthew Gray Gubler was giving a short history of Halloween, and pronounced "Samhain" as "Samhain" rather than "Sow-en".  I rather think that while Gubler himself may well have made such an error, that Reid would know better.  On the other hand, Reid is such a loner whose knowledge comes so often from his voracious speed reading and incredible retentive memory, he may very well have made such an error.

For All the Saints

- Lyrics by Anglican Bishop William Walsham How (13 Dec 1823 - 10 Aug 1897), 1864

Music (Sine Nomine - literally, "without name") by
Ralph Vaughan Williams (12 Oct 1872 - 26 Aug 1958), 1906

For all the saints
who from their labors rest,
Who thee by faith
before the world confessed.
Thy name, O Jesus,
be forever blest.

Thou wast their Rock,
their Fortress and their Might;
Thou, Lord, their captain
in the well-fought fight;
Thou, in the darkness drear,
their one true light.

O may Thy soldiers,
faithful, true, and bold,
Fight as the saints
who nobly fought of old,
And win with them
the victor's crown of gold.

And when the strife is fierce,
the warfare long,
Steals on the ear
the distant triumph song,
And hearts are brave again,
and arms are strong.

From earth's wide bounds,
from ocean's farthest coast,
Thro' gates of pearl
streams in the countless host,
Singing to Father,
Son, and Holy Ghost,
