   Thank you, Joan!

From Joan Lauterbach Krause ('60) of VA - 10/30/17, 7:39 AM:

For those passing out candy this year: when a teenager comes to your door please give them candy without saying, "Aren't you too old to be doing this?"

They could be out doing things much worse. I would rather have them knocking on my door than having them do dangerous things. Let them be kids as long as they can be. They are growing up way too fast.
Also, please don't refuse a child candy because they aren't dressed up. Some children are autistic or have sensory issues that make dressing up highly uncomfortable, if not unbearable. And some might not be able to afford them...

One last thing, size doesn't always determine mental age or special needs.

Be kind! ... Don't judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes..... children included!!!!

AMEN!!!

Thank you so very much, Joan! I quite agree!

From Jane Chambers of VA - 10/29/18:

    Thanks, Jane!

 From Domi O'Brien ('64) of NH - 10/28/18:

    Thanks, Domi!

BONUS HALLOWEEN CROCHET PATTERNS:

Lisa Hamblin's Ghost Fridgie - "Some ghosts can be scary, but not this little guy. Crochet this cute Ghost Fridgie for yourself or for a friend. This is an easy crochet pattern you can use to decorate your kitchen for Halloween. It's impossible to resist this cute little ghost."

Doni's Pumpkin Coaster - "If you're looking for a multipurpose Halloween decoration idea, this Crocheted Pumpkin Coaster is just the thing. This easy crochet pattern functions as a practical bar accessory as well as festive holiday decor. It can be used at Thanksgiving, too."

Sarah Zimmerman's Teeny Tiny Pumpkin - "Make this Teeny Tiny Pumpkin Pattern and add a touch of fall to your home. It's an easy crochet pattern to complete. This adorable crocheted pumpkin would look great on the Thanksgiving dinner table. Add a handful to your cornucopia centerpiece or put one at each guest's plate. It's also a great decoration for Halloween."

BONUS PETRIFYING HALLOWEEN SNACK RECIPES:

Frankenstein Marshmallow Pops - "Don't you just love Halloween crafts that double as dessert? These clever Frankenstein Marshmallow Pops are almost too cute to eat, but as they're made of mint and chocolate they're hard to resist! If you're not a marshmallow fan, you can also make Frankenstein pops out of doughnut holes or cake balls."

Michelle's Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ghosts - "There are tons of great Halloween treat ideas, but sometimes you just want something easy like these Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ghosts. These spooky Halloween treats are a perfect activity to do with your kids. They'll love adding fun faces to their Halloween ghost treats, and you'll enjoy eating the fruits of their labor!"

Eyeball Sub - "Halloween recipes can be a blast to make with the family. So get your kids excited and break away from the sweet for a bit with these Eyeball Sub sandwiches. I can't decide if they are cute or creepy but I love them."

FINALLY:

From www.ajokeaday.com - 10/29/19:

When the new activities director for the rec center walked in, all us retirees quickly took notice. She was 20-something and gorgeous. My buddy whispered, “She makes me wish I was 30 years older.”

“Don’t you mean 30 years younger?” I asked.

“No. If I were 30 years younger, I’d still never have a chance with a woman like that. If I were 30 years older, it wouldn’t bother me so much.”
