God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come to me." With tearful eyes your loved ones watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you go through this difficult time. Though I know that it was hard for Brother Monk to leave you, I know that the happiest time he has ever experienced was walking through the pearly gates of Heaven and meeting Jesus face to face for the first time! Brother Monk has been a true inspiration to me and I will always hold him in the highest of regard.

We are very sad to hear of the passing of Uncle Donald. At these times in life I know there are few words that can comfort you and ease the pain of losing someone so loving and important in your life. Nothing can replace a Husband or Father but as long as memories of his time with us remain in our hearts he will forever be with us.

Sister Barbara and Family,

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Brother Monk, yet I was filled with joy knowing he is with Jesus and will never again experience any of the heartaches, trials, or temptations this world has to offer again. I know he is in Heaven praising and glorifying the Master along side my grandfather, Brother Tick Bourne.

You have been in our thoughts and prayers every day and I pray especially that God will strengthen you through the days ahead. Jesus said, "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." I pray you will be comforted by God's Holy Spirit and be encouraged that Brother Monk is with his Master and that he has conquered man's last enemy.

Be blessed.

Donald will forever have a place in my heart. I will miss him and his smile coming into the breakroom and sitting in his favorite seat and writing the time down. He was the most giving person I have ever met. Always asking if I would like some of his lunch. When my mom died in June he had the right words to comfort me.
Donald will not only be missed my me, but also other people at our lunch table he called "the important table" He was the important one, not us.

I don't know any of Donald's family, but I wanted to stop and drop a line here. I am just reading of his passing and very sorry that I could not attend services. I worked with Donald years ago at Walmart, and have returned in recent years to talk to him about gardening. Sometimes my son and I would bring him things we had grown. He will be missed deeply, he was always ready with a bright smile and shining eyes-that is how he will be remembered. Thank you to the family for sharing such a wonderful man with all of the community, he is truly an angel.

How Great Thou Art

Originally a Swedish folk melody, "O Store Gud" by Carl Boberg (1859-1940)
was translated by Stuart K. Hine in 1899.

O Lord my God! when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed:

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
