In Your Eyes

No eyes that have seen beauty ever lose their sight.

- Jean Toomer
(26 Dec 1894 - 30 Mar 1967)

Thine eyes are springs in whose serene
And silent waters heaven is seen.

-
William Cullen Bryant

(03 Nov 1794 - 12 June 1878)

The eyes shout what the lips fear to say.

- William Henry

The eyes say a lot more than anything.

- Mark Wahlberg
(b. 05 June 1971)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

What better to follow smiles than eyes? I started to offer it as a contest to see who could identify all these beautiful eyes, but it would just be too easy; there are far too many clues in the naming of the images, and the first one is a total freebie. If you want to guess who's who, it should be fairly obvious that the gals are on the left and the guys are on the right. Chances are excellent that one of them is YOU!

BONUS - In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel, 1986

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Your_Eyes_%28Peter_Gabriel_song%29:

"In Your Eyes" is a song by musician Peter Gabriel from his 1986 album So. It reached #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks and #26 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986.[1] It was not released as a single in the UK. Gabriel later released an extended version of the song which was nearly 9 minutes in length (as compared to the original 5:29 version that appears on the album). Like many of his songs, "In Your Eyes" contains significant African influences, even more so when performed live (on the So tour) as an extended vocal duet with Youssou N'Dour.

The song was the finale of the Secret World Tour, and is the final track on the Secret World Live album.

In 1993, Gabriel performed the song on Saturday Night Live.[2]

The song was included on the US version of his 2003 compilation Hit, but not on the European or Japanese versions.

In 2005, after 19 years of accumulated sales, the song brought Gabriel his first Gold single, certified in the U.S. by the RIAA.[3]

In Your Eyes

Written and recorded by Peter Gabriel, 1986
(b. 13 Feb 1950)

Accepting all I’ve done and said
I want to stand and stare again
Til there’s nothing left out, oh
It remains there in your eyes
Whatever comes and goes
I will hear your silent call
I will touch this tender wall
Til I know I’m home again
Ooh

In your eyes (in your eyes)
In your eyes (in your eyes)
In your eyes (in your eyes)
In your eyes

Love I get so lost, sometimes
Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart
When I want to run away
I drive off in my car
But whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are

And all my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside

In your eyes
The light the heat
In your eyes
I am complete
In your eyes
I see the doorway (in your eyes) to a thousand churches
In your eyes
The resolution (in your eyes) of all the fruitless searches
In your eyes
I see the light and the heat
In your eyes
Oh, I want to be that complete
I want to touch the light
The heat I see in your eyes

In your eyes
In your eyes

Love, I don’t like to see so much pain
So much wasted and this moment keeps slipping away
I get so tired of working so hard for our survival
I look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive

And all my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside

In your eyes
The light the heat
In your eyes
I am complete
In your eyes
I see the doorway (in your eyes) to a thousand churches
In your eyes
The resolution (in your eyes) of all the fruitless searches
In your eyes
I see the light and the heat
In your eyes
Oh, I want to be that complete
I want to touch the light
The heat I see in your eyes

In your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes

Accepting all I’ve done and said
I want to stand and stare again
Til there’s nothing left out, oh
It remains there in your eyes
Whatever comes and goes
Oh it’s in your eyes

In your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes

I want to stand and stare again
Oh, it’s in your eyes.
