Claryce C. Petty
Friends and Schoolmates,
Once again we have sad news. Claryce C. Petty, mother of Maxine Petty Ramey ('57) and Velma Petty Dishman ('61), has passed away at the age of 100
From Karrin Williams Frankie (Warwick HS - '61) of VA - 10/24/07 - " Velma & Maxine Petty lost their Mother":
I was out of town last weekend but Patty Andrews Mays ('61 - of VA) called me late Sunday night to tell me of Mrs. Petty’s death. She turned 100 in the summer.....
I saw Maxine in September at the NNHS ‘57 Class Reunion.
Mrs. Petty was the second person I have known to reach 100 years old. Mrs. Kyle who lived next door to me on Buxton also got to that great old age and had her mind also!
Thank you so much for telling me, Karrin. I had somehow read right over this without realizing what I was seeing.

To Maxine, Jerry, Pug, Sonny &
their families, and my niece Laura Ann Stryff, and my five nephews, Frank,
Mike, Tim, John & Tony Yacobi and their families.
I always remember Mrs. Petty with a smile on her face and that never changed. I was so pleased she made it to her 100th with a big birthday bash. She was a lady every step of the way. I feel honored to have known her and feel fortunate to have had her be a part of our extended families. I know you all will miss her terribly and my heart goes out to all of you for her loss.

Shall We Gather at the River
Words and music by Rev. Robert Lowry (1826-1899)
Shall we gather at the
Where bright angel feet have trod;
With its crystal tide forever
Flowing by the throne of God?
Yes, we'll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.
On the margin of the river,
Washing up its silver spray,
We will walk and worship ever,
All the happy golden day.
Ere we reach the shining river,
Lay we every burden down;
Grace our spirits will deliver,
And provide a robe and crown.
Soon we'll reach the shining river,
Soon our pilgrimage will cease,
Soon our happy hearts will quiver
With the melody of peace.
