Donna Vest Hagerman's ('71 - of VA)
birthday is September 5.
Thank you, Buster! Yeppers! There she is, headlining the September 5 birthdays on every Newsletter from August 29 to September 5, just as she's done for several years now (or she would be, doncha know, had I ever completed most of those issues, which to date I have not, but, ahh, you get the idea ):
From Norman Olshansky ('64) of FL - 10/20/15 - "I'm That Jew":
|There are those who are focused on our
destruction. Get to know us. We are not who and what you think.
Thank you so very much, Norman! Sixty years ago whenever my daddy, the late Robert Buckley (John Marshall HS - '25) (19 Oct 1907 - 25 Apr 1960) became really disgusted about something he would say, "I don't get it. I just don't get it." In much the same way, my sister, Eleanor Buckley Nowitzky of NC, the Best Dressed Girl in the Class of 1959, would routinely indignantly exclaim, "But that's not fair!"
There are many things in life which I just don't get precisely because they are so grossly unfair, but Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust have always topped my list. I suppose that's just as well; I think if I were able to understand how and why anyone could be so filled with hatred that they would feel that way, it would be because I was harboring such feelings myself, and I'm not.
From Sarah Puckett Kressaty ('65) of VA - 10/20/15:
|BOY, HOWDY! Thanks, Sarah Sugah!|
|AMEN! Thanks, Joyce!|

succeed . . . so much for skydiving.”
