“That we may mark with wonder and chaste
dread At hour of noon, when, with our limbs outspread Lazily in the whispering grass, we lie To gaze out fully upon the windy sky- Far, far away, and kindly, friend with friend To talk the old, old talk that has no end, Roaming-without a name-without a chart The unknown garden of another's heart.”

AHA!
Thank you, John! I
discovered that to my horror back in July, and wondered who would
be the next to spot it!
The orderly
display of that page (though blessedly not its contents) was lost during
a computer switching operation, probably in July/August 2019.
The good news is, I can do it manually, bit by bit, and so I shall.
Let us begin: |

Whispering Grass Written by Fred Fisher (30 Sept 1875 - 14 Jan 1942) and his daughter Doris Fisher (1915 –2003)Recorded by The Ink Spots, 1940 Why do you whisper, green grass Why tell the trees what ain't so? Whispering grass The trees don't have to know Why tell them all your secrets Who kissed there long ago? Whispering grass The trees don't need to know Now don't you tell it to the breeze 'Cause she will tell it to the trees And everyone will know Because you told them once before Yes, you told them once before It's no secret anymore Why tell them all the old things They're buried under the snow Whispering grass don't tell the trees 'Cause the trees don't need to know Why tell them all your secrets Who kissed there long ago? Whispering grass The trees don't need to know Now don't you tell it to the breeze 'Cause she will run and tell it to the trees And everyone will know 'Cause you told them once before Yes, you told them once before That's no, no secret anymore Why tell them all the old things They're buried under the snow Whispering grass don't tell the trees 'Cause the trees don't need to know |
