10/18/17 - NNHS Newsletter - Something

Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future.
Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.

- Earl Nightingale
(12 Mar 1921 - 25 Mar 1989)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

Quite strangely, today's Newsletter theme is new to us this year.

BONUS #1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5IVp25InsA - Something - The Beatles, 1969

BONUS #2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCps14dW-OE - Something - George Harrison, a little bit later, possibly 1971

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Something_(Beatles_song)

"Something" is a song by the Beatles, written by George Harrison and released on the band's 1969 album Abbey Road. It was also issued as a single coupled with another track from the album, "Come Together". "Something" was the first Harrison composition to appear as a Beatles A-side, and the only song written by him to top the US charts before the band's break-up in April 1970. The single was also one of the first Beatles singles to contain tracks already available on an LP album.

The song drew high praise from the band's primary songwriters, John Lennon and Paul McCartney; Lennon stated that "Something" was the best song on Abbey Road, while McCartney considered it the best song Harrison had written.[2] As well as critical acclaim, the single achieved commercial success, topping the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and making the top five in the United Kingdom. The song has been covered by over 150 artists, making it the second-most covered Beatles song after "Yesterday"...

Something

Written by George Harrison (25 Feb 1943 29 Nov 2001)

Recorded by The Beatles, 1969

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she woos me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how
Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover
Something in her style that shows me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how
You're asking me will my love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around and it may show
I don't
