Sadie Lefort Aucoin
(1911 - 14 Oct 2006)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

We have more sad news this evening.

From Brownie Shaffer Haracivet ('62) of VA - 10/17/06 - "Eric Aucoin's Mother":

Carol,

There was someone in my 1962 class by the name of   Eric Aucoin and I wonder if his mom is the one who passed away?

Yes, Brownie, and thank you so much for telling me this.  I knew Eric had lived in a Chicago suburb for many years, so his address removes all doubt.

Sadie and Joseph were great neighbors to my parents, John & Lorrene Thom on 79th St in Newport News. Sadie was a wonderful person. My mother missed her so when she moved away from 79th St. Now they will visit again in heaven.

From Glenn Dye ('60) of TX - 10/18/06 - "Sadie Lefort Aucoin":

CAROL,

I JUST SAW THE NEWS ABOUT MRS. AUCOIN,    ERIC AUCOIN'S ('62 - of IL) MOTHER. THEY WERE OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS ON 24TH STREET. I AM SO SORRY TO READ ABOUT HER . SHE AND MY MOM VISITED EACH OTHER ALMOST EVERY DAY. THEY WOULD SHARE THEIR FAITH, PRAY WITH EACH OTHER, READ THE BIBLE TOGETHER. SHE WAS A TRUE EXAMPLE OF A CHRISTIAN LADY.

GLENN DYE

Thank you, Glenn.  Those are precious memories.

Y'all take good care of each other!  TYPHOONS FOREVER!

                          Love to all, Carol

Oh, How I Love Jesus

Words by Frederick Whitfield; Traditional American Melody

There is a name I love to hear,
I love to sing its worth;
It sounds like music in my ear,
The sweetest name on earth.

chorus:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

It tells me of a Saviour's love,
Who died to set me free;
It tells me of His precious blood,
The sinner's perfect plea.
(chorus)

It tells me what my Father hath,
In store for every day,
And tho' I tread a darksome path,
Yields sunshine all the way.
(chorus)

It tells of One whose loving heart
Can feel my deepest woe,
Who in each sorrow bears a part,
That none can bear below.
(chorus)
