Mr. and Mrs. Cartwright,

I am so sorry to hear about Chris. He and I and Mike Conway were the best of friends for so many years. I have tried to find Chris on the internet several times, actually just last month. I will always regret that I was too late. My thoughts are with you.

Dearest Shirley, Vernon and Walter, Mannie and I are overwhelmed with grief to learn that our special friend has died. Chris was the most beautiful young man - smart, loving, genuine. We will miss him but know we will see each other again in heaven. We hope your heavy hearts lighten each day that passes. God is always good. With love and great sympathy,

I have always believed God doesn't take you a moment before your time yet it's hard for those who loved him to agree with His choice.
I watched Chris grow into a terrific man through the proud and loving eyes of his parents. I feel I've lost a dear, dear friend.
I can't imagine the depth of your sorrow but know that I love you all and always will. The Cartwright's are very special to me and to our community.

  From Ruth Ann Reece Horace ('67) of FL - 10/16/09, 10:58 PM (Central) - "  Chris Cartwright":

Carol,
Thank you for publishing the news about Chris's passing.  Our families have been close since my dad was
  Vernon's scoutmaster 50+ years ago.  I have been so tied up with taking care of Hubby that I have not had very good contact with my Virginia family these past few weeks.

Your service is wonderful. I will call tomorrow, as it is almost midnight here, and have Dad give them our love.

Love ya
Ruthie

   Oh, WOW.  Thank you, Ruthie, I'm honored that I was able to do that.

  Y'all take good care of each other!  TYPHOONS FOREVER! We'll Always Have Buckroe!

                          Love to all, Carol

God Be with You Till We Meet Again

Music by
William Gould Tomer, 1882
(05 Oct 1833 - 26 Sept 1896)

 Lyrics by Jeremiah Eames Rankin, 1880
(02 Jan 1828 - 28 Nov 1904)

God be with you till we meet again;
By His counsels guide, uphold you,
With His sheep securely fold you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again;
When life’s perils thick confound you;
Put His arms unfailing round you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again;
Keep love’s banner floating o’er you,
Strike death’s threatening wave before you;
God be with you till we meet again.

Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.
