“A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”
Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
This song always makes me happy!
BONUS - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EaflX0MWRo - Reach Out, I'll Be There - The Four Tops, 1967 - WOWZERS! Makes ya wanna DANCE!
|"Reach Out I'll Be There" (also formatted as "Reach Out
(I'll Be There)") is a 1966 hit song recorded by the
Tops for the
label. Written and produced by Motown's main production team
the song is one of the most well-known Motown tunes of the 1960s and is
today considered The Tops' signature song. It was the number one song on
the R&B charts for two weeks,
and on the
Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks, from September 24, 1966 to October
15. It replaced "Cherish"
The Association, and was itself replaced by "96
Question Mark & the Mysterians.
Rolling Stone later ranked this version #206 on their list of
The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. This version is also currently
ranked as the 45th best song of all time, as well as the #3 song of
1966, in an aggregation of critics' lists at acclaimedmusic.net.
This song differs markedly from the Four Tops' earlier efforts, due to the highly-contrasting shifts between minor and major, and also major and augmented chords. These contrasting tonal shades form the hook for which the song is so well known. The Four Tops would rely on this formula for several subsequent releases.

From My Friend, Sarah, of NC -
A good reminder that people often think it's okay for adults to get cranky
and frustrated, but not children. It is okay, and it is our responsibility as
adults to help them learn to cope with and manage these emotions and situations.
They will mimic what they see and are taught, people. Love the child, be patient
and remember they are learning so many things for the first time in their brand
ABSOLUTELY! Thank you so much, Sarah!

|Sister Grace at the convent opened a letter from home and found a
$100 bill from her parents. She smiled at the gesture. As she read the
letter by the window, she noticed a shabbily-dressed stranger leaning
against the lamp post below.
Quickly, she wrote, "Don't despair. Sister Grace" on a piece of paper, wrapped the $100 bill in it, and tossed it out the window. The stranger picked it up and read the note. He tipped his hat to Sister Grace and hurried away.
The next day, Sister Grace was told that a man was asking to see her. She went down and found the stranger waiting. Without a word, he handed her a huge wad of $100 bills.
"What's this?" she asked.
"That's your $8,000, sister," he replied. "'Don't Despair' paid 80-to-1."
