It Won't Be Long

I'm sure it won't be long until you find someone nice who loves you.”

- Sebastian Ischer

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

Today's Newsletter theme might still apply to many things, but personally, I'm afraid many more things might take considerably longer than any of us would prefer.

BONUS - It Won't Be Long - The Beatles

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_Won%27t_Be_Long:

"It Won't Be Long" is the opening track on With the Beatles, the Beatles' second UK album, and was the first original song recorded for it.[1] Although credited to Lennon–McCartney, it was primarily a John Lennon composition, with Paul McCartney assisting with the lyrics and arrangement.[2]

The chorus is a play on the words "be long" and "belong".[3] The song features early Beatles' trademarks such as call-and-response yeah-yeahs and scaling guitar riffs.[4] Typical also of this phase of Beatles' song writing is the melodramatic ending (similar to "She Loves You", which had just been recorded and was about to be released) where the music stops, allowing Lennon a brief solo vocal improvisation before the song finishes on a major seventh chord[3] ("She Loves You" ends on a major sixth). There is an unusual middle eight—for what is, essentially, a rock and roll song—that uses chromatically descending chords.

John Lennon, in his last interview, told Playboy magazine that the song was the beginning of a wider audience for Beatles' music than the youthful throngs that had fervently followed them from their Liverpool clubbing days. "It was only after a critic for the [London] Times said we put 'Aeolian cadences' in 'It Won't Be Long' that the middle classes started listening to us. ... To this day, I have no idea what 'Aeolian cadences' are. They sound like exotic birds."[5] Actually the critic, William Mann, said this about the song "Not a Second Time."[6] Bob Dylan had much the same thing in mind when he wrote that Beatles' chords were "outrageous, just outrageous."[7]

From Jimmy Dick ('65) of FL - 09/30/20, 9:48 AM:

Oh, what a beautiful morning, oh, what a beautiful day; I've got a wonderful feeling, everything's going my way. And on this beautiful last day of September, this day is indeed perfect. The rain, heat and humidity are gone, replaced by sunshine, lower humidity, and a high today of 74 and low tonight of 55. Hallelujah! God's country as a title returns to Florida today as fall filters in. We are super blessed and I thank Him for this and all blessings He provides.

God bless you all and have a blessed Wednesday. And I hope the sun is shining brightly where you are as well.

      Thank you, Jimmy!

It Won't Be Long

Written primarily by John Lennon (09 Oct 1940 - 08 Dec 1980),
but credited (as were all Beatles songs written by either person) to
Lennon/McCartney,
with
Paul McCartney (b. 18 June 1942) assisting with the lyrics and arrangement

Recorded byThe Beatles,1963

It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, till I belong to you

Every night when everybody has fun
Here am I sitting all on my own

It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, till I belong to you

Since you left me, I'm so alone
Now you're coming, you're coming on home
I'll be good like I know I should
You're coming home, you're coming home

Every night the tears come down from my eyes
Every day I've done nothing but cry

It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, till I belong to you

Since you left me, I'm so alone
Now you're coming, you're coming on home
I'll be good like I know I should
You're coming home, you're coming home

So every day we'll be happy I know
Not I know that you won't leave me no more

It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, till I belong to you, woo
