BONUS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUmXXFbhokc - It Won't Be Long - The Beatles

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_Won%27t_Be_Long:

"It Won't Be Long" is the opening track on With the Beatles, the Beatles' second UK album, and was the first original song recorded for it.[1] Although credited to Lennon–McCartney, it was primarily a John Lennon composition, with Paul McCartney assisting with the lyrics and arrangement.[2]

The chorus is a play on the words "be long" and "belong".[3] The song features early Beatles' trademarks such as call-and-response yeah-yeahs and scaling guitar riffs.[4] Typical also of this phase of Beatles' song writing is the melodramatic ending (similar to "She Loves You", which had just been recorded and was about to be released) where the music stops, allowing Lennon a brief solo vocal improvisation before the song finishes on a major seventh chord[3] ("She Loves You" ends on a major sixth). There is an unusual middle eight—for what is, essentially, a rock and roll song—that uses chromatically descending chords.

John Lennon, in his last interview, told Playboy magazine that the song was the beginning of a wider audience for Beatles' music than the youthful throngs that had fervently followed them from their Liverpool clubbing days. "It was only after a critic for the [London] Times said we put 'Aeolian cadences' in 'It Won't Be Long' that the middle classes started listening to us. ... To this day, I have no idea what 'Aeolian cadences' are. They sound like exotic birds."[5] Actually the critic, William Mann, said this about the song "Not a Second Time."[6] Bob Dylan had much the same thing in mind when he wrote that Beatles' chords were "outrageous, just outrageous."[7]

From Barbara Woods Spiers ('61) of VA - 09/29/14 - "Pasta Fagioli":

With the cold weather comes the crock pot. Here's a great recipe for Pasta Fagioli that is bound to be a hit.

  Pasta Fagiloi

INGREDIENTS:

2 lbs. of ground beef
1 onion, chopped
3 carrots, chopped
4 stalks of celery, chopped
2 (28 ounce) cans diced tomatos, undrained
1 (16 ounce) can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (16 ounce) can white kidney beans, drained and rinsed
3 (10 ounce) cans of beef stock
3 tsp. oregano
2 tsp. pepper
5 tsp. parsley
1 tsp. tabasco sauce (optional)
1 (20 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
8 ounces of pasta

DIRECTIONS:

Brown the beef and drain the fat......then put into crock pot with all other ingredients except the pasta. Cook on low for 7-8 hours or on High for 4-5 hours. Add the pasta 30 minutes before eating. Serve with crusty warm bread!!!

Note: if you do not have a large crock pot, cut the recipe in half. Pasta Fagioli also freezes wonderfully, so you can make a big batch and freeze the rest!!! Enjoy everyone.

MMMmm! Thanks, Barbara! It's making me hungry!

The guy said okay, and drove away. The next day, the officer saw the guy still driving around with the truck full of penguins -- and they're all wearing sunglasses. He pulled the guy over and demanded, "I thought I told you to take these penguins to the zoo yesterday?"

It Won't Be Long

Written primarily by John Lennon (09 Oct 1940 - 08 Dec 1980),
but credited (as were all Beatles songs written by either person) to
Lennon/McCartney,
with Paul McCartney (b. 18 June 1942) assisting with the lyrics and arrangement

Recorded by The Beatles, 1963

It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, till I belong to you

Every night when everybody has fun
Here am I sitting all on my own

It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, till I belong to you

Since you left me, I'm so alone
Now you're coming, you're coming on home
I'll be good like I know I should
You're coming home, you're coming home

Every night the tears come down from my eyes
Every day I've done nothing but cry

It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, till I belong to you

Since you left me, I'm so alone
Now you're coming, you're coming on home
I'll be good like I know I should
You're coming home, you're coming home

So every day we'll be happy I know
Not I know that you won't leave me no more

It won't be long yeh, yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, yeh
It won't be long yeh, till I belong to you, woo
