A World Without Love

There is a Law that man should love his neighbor as himself.
In a few hundred years it should be as natural to mankind as breathing
or the upright gait; but if he does not learn it he must perish.”

Alfred Adler
(07 Feb 1870 - 28 May 1937)

BONUS #2 - A World Without Love - Peter and Gordon, 2008

From :

"A World Without Love" is a song recorded by the English duo Peter and Gordon and released as their first single in February 1964, reaching number one in the UK Singles Chart in April. The song was written by Paul McCartney[1] and attributed to Lennon/McCartney. The B-side was "If I Were You" written by Peter and Gordon. In June 1964, "A World Without Love" topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. It also reached number one on the Cash Box chart in the U.S. for one week. It was included on the duo's debut album in the UK, and in the US on an album of the same name. It is one of two songs written by Lennon/McCartney to reach number one in the US by an artist other than the Beatles.[citation needed] The other is "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" by Elton John.

"A World Without Love" is one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.

McCartney did not think the song was good enough for The Beatles.[2] Prior to giving the song to Peter and Gordon, he offered it to Billy J. Kramer, who rejected it.[2]

McCartney described John Lennon's reaction to the song: "The funny first line always used to please John. 'Please lock me away –' 'Yes, okay.' End of song."[2] Lennon said of the song that "I think that was resurrected from the past....I think he had that whole song before the Beatles....That has the line 'Please lock me away' that we always used to crack up at."[3]

Peter and Gordon were a British Invasion-era performing duo and formed by Peter Asher (b. 22 June 1944) and Gordon Waller (04 June 1945 - 17 July 2009), who rocketed to fame in 1964, with "A World Without Love" and had several subsequent hits in that era.

Peter Asher's sister, actress Jane Asher, dated The Beatles' Paul McCartney, so Peter and Gordon recorded several songs that were solely written by McCartney but credited, as most compositions by either were at the time, to Lennon/McCartney. Those hits included "A World Without Love" (U.S. #1), "Nobody I Know", "I Don't Want To See You Again", and "Woman". "Woman" is credited to "Bernard Webb"; McCartney used this pseudonym to see if he could have a hit song even without his famous name attached to it. The song reached number 14 in the US and number 28 on the British charts. Peter and Gordon also recorded the John Lennon-penned Lennon/McCartney song, "If I Fell."

Interesting! Who knew? Some time ago, I was cooking some corn and stuck my fork in the boiling water to see if the corn was ready. I missed and my hand went into the boiling water....!!

A friend of mine, who was a Vietnam veteran, came into the house, as I was screaming, and asked me if I had some plain old flour... I pulled out a bag and he stuck my hand in it. He told me to keep my hand in the flour for 10 minutes.

He said, in Vietnam, there was a guy on fire and in their panic, they threw a bag of flour all over him to put the fire out... Well, it not only put the fire out, but he never even had a blister!!!! ... Long story short, I put my hand in the bag of flour for 10 minutes, pulled it out and did not even have a red mark or a blister, and absolutely NO PAIN.

Now, I keep a bag of flour in the fridge and every time I burn myself. *Cold flour feels even better than room temperature flour. I use the flour and have never ever had even a red spot/burn mark, or a blister! I even burnt my tongue once, put the flour on it for about 10 minutes .... the pain was gone and no burn.

Try it . . . Experience a miracle! Keep a bag of flour in your fridge and you will be happy you did! Flour has heat absorbent property and also has a strong antioxidant property, thus it helps in burn patients if applied within 15 minutes.
Did not know this but will be a good one to remember.

WOWZERS! Thank you so much, Dru!

From - 09/13/18:

A distraught investor called his financial advisor. “Is it true? Is my money really all gone?” he asked, wailing.

“No, no, take it easy,” the advisor answered calmly. “It isn't all gone... it’s just with somebody else.”

A World Without Love

Written by Paul McCartney (b. 18 June 1942); attributed to Lennon/McCartney

Recorded by Peter and Gordon, 1964

Please lock me away
And don't allow the day
Here inside, where I hide with my loneliness
I don't care what they say, I won't stay
In a world without love

Birds sing out of tune
And rain clouds hide the moon
I'm OK, here I stay with my loneliness
I don't care what they say, I won't stay
In a world without love

So I wait, and in a while
I will see my true love smile
She may come, I know not when
When she does, I'll lose
So baby until then

Lock me away
And don't allow the day
Here inside, where I hide with my loneliness
I don't care what they say, I won't stay
In a world without love

(Please lock me away)
(And don't allow the day)
(Here inside, where I hide with my loneliness)
I don't care what they say, I won't stay
In a world without love

So I wait, and in a while
I will see my true love smile
She may come, I know not when
When she does, I'll lose
So baby until then

Lock me away
And don't allow the day
Here inside, where I hide with my loneliness
I don't care what they say, I won't stay
In a world without love

I don't care what they say, I won't stay
In a world without love
