Right Here Waitin
g

“How much of human life is lost in waiting.”

- Ralph Waldo Emerson
(25 May 1803 - 27 Apr 1882)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

It seems to me that many of us are "right here waiting" for something or other.....

BONUS - Right Here Waiting - Richard Marx, 1989

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_Here_Waiting:

"Right Here Waiting" is a song by American singer-songwriter Richard Marx. It was released in June 29, 1989 as the second single from his second album, Repeat Offender. The song was a global hit, topping charts throughout the world, including the U.S. where it hit number-one on the Billboard Hot 100.[2] It was certified Platinum by the RIAA.[3]

..."Right Here Waiting" was the second single from Repeat Offender, after "Satisfied". Marx wrote the song on the road as a love letter to his wife, actress Cynthia Rhodes, who was in South Africa shooting for a film.[4] The track was arranged by Marx with Jeffery (C.J.) Vanston to feature none of the heavy drums and synth popular at the time, with Marx's vocal accompanied only by classical guitar (by Bruce Gaitsch) and keyboards (by Vanston). It is one of Marx's most frequently covered compositions.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Marx:

"Marx placed himself in the record books by being the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the Top 5 on the US charts. [2]"

“Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never–in nothing, great or small, large or petty–never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”

FOR THE ARCHIVE:

From Edith Allen Raine Fenick of VA - 09/06/19, 9:36 AM - "Adding a teacher to NNHS LIST":

My dad was PWA (Allen) Raine and taught math at NNHS sometime before I was born in 1948 to 1957 when he died of a heart attack.        Frances Raine, my sister, is listed and had just started her first year of teaching at NNHS that year
Could you please put him on the NNHS list of teachers?
Thank you.

Edith Allen Raine Fenick
YIKES! Thank you so much, Edith! This should have been added well over fourteen years ago. I'm sure I had some sort of "reason" for this delay, but at the moment, nothing really comes to mind.

Also, I'm still learning how to use a new version of PhotoShop, so I'm dissatisfied with the two newest scans I added. When my skills improve, I'll replace these.

From Jimmy Dick ('65) of FL - 09/07/19, 12:23 PM:

Picture is from NC DOT of HIghway 12 on Ocracoke Island. If you're trying to get there in a wheeled vehicle when they allow entry, better go by 4 wheel drive. Two 500 foot sections of the highway are like this. The ocean rules while man grumbles. It's called living on a barrier island..

      Thank you, Jimmy!

From My Cousin, Cheryl White Wilson (James Blair HS / John Marshall HS - '64) of VA - 09/06/19, 12:27 PM:

Right Here Waiting

Written and Recorded by Richard Marx, 1989
(b. 16 Sept 1963)

Oceans apart day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain

If I see you next to never

How can we say forever

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

I took for granted, all the times
That I though would last somehow
I hear the laughter, I taste the tears
But I can't get near you now

Oh, can't you see it, Baby
You've got me goin' crazy

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

I wonder how we can survive
This romance
But in the end if I'm with you
I'll take the chance

Oh, can't you see it, Baby
You've got me goin' crazy

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
