From Joe Madagan ('57) of FL to Patsy Bloxom Meider ('57) of NC - 08/09/17 - "Deceased Typhoons; Class of 1957":
I found the data on Woody Hudson and others...
Still no "Official" date of death for Captain Frank Ferguson on any records. He was Navigator on an AWAX which was a Boeing Constellation with a radar dome mounted on top, and a radar disc mounted on the underside of the craft. They patrolled the east coast during the "Cold War" period. The catastrophic failure of the aircraft was sudden, with no "May Day" radio signal from the crew. When it did not return to base in MA they knew it was lost, for radio communications were lost before it became obvious. The date is uncertain for the search too place for days, with no part of the plane found, and it appeared no one of the crew survived, but that was not conclusive and they may have placed the plane on the water and tried to survive with onboard equipment, and then died at sea, hence the reason the Air Force could not determine an exact date of death for Frank and the crew.
Fred Hayman ('57) of VA and I drove to the Air Force base in MA for the Memorial Service for the crew, and drove back for the service at Frank's church to deliver a eulogy to remember our close buddy.

Thank you so much for supplying this information for our Archive, Major Madagan! All the information I've highlighted in red is new to us. It seems some scanning is in my near future!
