When You Wish Upon a Star

something to love, and something to hope for.

- Joseph Addison
(01 May 1672 - 17 June 1719)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

I'd probably wish upon a star even now after lo, these many years, but that would mean I'd have to go outside - at night.....   Hmmm...

When You Wish Upon a Star

Music by Leigh Harline (26 Mar 1907 10 Dec 1969); Lyrics by Ned Washington (15 Aug 1901 20 Dec 1976)
for
Walt Disney's (05 Dec 1901 15 Dec 1966) adaptation of Pinocchio, 1940

Originally sung by Cliff Edwards (14 June1895 17 July 1971) as Jiminy Cricket

When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you

If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do

Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing

Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
