Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

I myself have always been a great believer in dreams - day dreams, night dreams - any dreams at all. Ya gotta have a dream, right??

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Any_Dream_Will_Do_%28song%29

"Any Dream Will Do" is a popular song written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice for the 1968 musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It is generally the beginning and the concluding song of the musical, sung by the title character of Joseph.

It has been sung by numerous performers both on stage and on record including Jason Donovan, John Barrowman, Donny Osmond, Andy Gibb, Phillip Schofield, Darren Day, Lee Mead, Connie Talbot and Toy Dolls. Joe Cuddy's version was a number one hit in Ireland in 1974. The song was voted Broadway Song of the Year in 1981 and won an Ivor Novello Award in 1991.[1]

The song was performed by Jason Donovan, Donny Osmond and Lee Mead at the Concert for Diana on 1 July 2007.

It was notably parodied by Irish radio personality Mario Rosenstock in 2005 as "José and his Amazing Technicolor Overcoat", a send-up of then-Chelsea F.C. manager José Mourinho. It was also parodied by a musical duo Amateur Transplants in their first album Fitness to Practice as "Mr Burton"...

From My Niece, Shari, of VA - 08/01/18 - "Awe-Inspiring Update & A Nice Message for Us All":

Some of you may recall I sent out a time to the t.v. show she was going to be on, some time back. For some reason I found myself thinking about that and how Jennifer Hiles was and found this.........

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0BC3DxR4DU - Jennifer Hiles - an update.

She is looking sooo good. What an inspiration to all of of us, her ongoing plight and thriving despite it, should be!
If you will take a short time to watch this, you can not help but realize to not sweat the little things and if by chance you are going through health trials to realize you are not alone.

What a champ!! Unless you know her story it is not telling initially to see the all the signs, outwardly, of all she has been through. She is more revealing, in this video. I find her fortitude and happy demeanor to be a faith builder. She is a true testament of the strength of the human spirit.

She shares a nice message with others, a bit closer to the end. It is both encouraging and true.

   Thank you so much, Shari!

From Mary Massey Lyle ('61) of PA - 08/02/17:

  EXACTLY! Thank you, Mary!

BONUS CROCHET HUMOR:

From Ambassador Crochet: You Might Be A Crochet-Aholic If…..:

YOU MIGHT BE A CROCHET-AHOLIC IF......

your kids tell you that you don't need to go to the yarn store because you have your own yarn store in the basement.
you can't leave the house without your yarn and hook.
you have more yarn and hooks than a crochet store.
when shopping, you head to the yarn department first.
you have more than one crochet hook in your purse, but you don't have any working writing tools.
your first question after being informed by the doctor that you need shoulder surgery is...will I still be able to crochet?
you would rather buy yarn than a new pair of shoes.
your Pinterest contains more patterns than you will ever be able to complete in one lifetime!
you always have a hook in your purse and car, just in case you forget one at home.
you find crochet hooks in the dryer after doing a load of laundry!
you would rather crochet than be on Facebook.
your sleep is disturbed by thoughts of new patterns.
you don't pay your rent cuz you need to add to your stash.
you have 8 wips and can't wait to start another one, oh - and you know what a wip is!
you have more patterns than you'll EVER make, even if there were three of you.
everything you see can be made of yarn!
you can't find your hook and later discover it tangled in your hair.
you cry when your physical therapist tells you not to crochet until your shoulder is better.
you crochet a project you're working on in your dream.
you need a separate house just for your yarn.
you crochet food items instead of going to the grocery store and buy them.
you never leave home without a project.
you dream about crochet.
you wake up out of a dead sleep and know what you did wrong- from the last pattern that you put away cause there was a mistake and you couldn't figure it out.
you jump up from a deep sleep saying, "That is what I am going to make next!"
your husband tells his friends you have more yarn than Walmart.

From www.ajokeaday.com - 08/02/18:

My family was playing a trivia board game one night. When it was my brother-in-law's turn, he rolled the dice and landed on "Science & Nature."

His question was, "If you are in a vacuum and someone calls your name, can you hear it?"

He thought for a moment and then asked, "Is it on or off?"

Any Dream Will Do

Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber (b. 22 Mar 1948) and Tim Rice (b. 10 Nov 1944)
for
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
, 1968

Joseph

I closed my eyes, drew back the curtain
To see for certain what I thought I knew
Far far away, someone was weeping
But the world was sleeping
Any dream will do

Joseph & Children

I wore my coat, with golden lining
Bright colours shining, wonderful and new
And in the east, the dawn was breaking
And the world was waking
Any dream will do

Joseph

A crash of drums, a flash of light
My golden coat flew out of sight
The colours faded into darkness
I was left alone

Joseph & Children

May I return to the beginning
The light is dimming, and the dream is too
The world and I, we are still waiting
Still hesitating
Any dream will do
Joseph

A crash of drums, a flash of light
My golden coat flew out of sight
The colours faded into darkness
I was left alone

Joseph & Children

May I return to the beginning
The light is dimming, and the dream is too
The world and I, we are still waiting
Still hesitating
Any dream will do
