Right Back Where We Started From

“Ours is a life of constant reruns. We're always circling back
to where we'd we started, then starting all over again.”

- Joe Henderson
(b. 03 June 1943)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

It's true; I'm back!   Well, actually, I never left, but thanks to DMARC, many of y'all were unaware of that fact!

From Polly Norris Davis ('65) of VA - via snail mail on 07/29/14:

(Polly sent me a gift, several enclosures including these, and a beautiful tender note that made me burst into tears...)

Dearest Polly, thank you so very much! You were undoubtedly prompted by the Lord to send me these particular gifts, as they not only said exactly what I needed to hear, but arrived when I most needed to hear them! I'm sure that I will never be able to convey to you how very much it meant to me!

Please give your darling    Malcolm (Davis - '65) a big hug for me, too!

From Butch Ragland ('63) of CO - 07/29/14, 11:42 AM:

Thanks, Carol!

Good to see you back in production; you have been missed! Although I have to admit that I have checked the site at least a couple times per week during this period of
down time and have stayed up to date!

Tell Paul hello for me!

Thanks & God Bless
Butch

SUPER! Thanks so much, Butch! Paul said to tell you hi, too!

From Joe Madagan ('57) of FL - 07/29/14, 1:59 PM:

Hi, Carol:

It is so good to hear from you.
Here is hoping you manage to overcome obstacles.....

Please give us a Birthday Present by coming on to use Facebook. Paul and I stay in touch there, as well as           Captain (Brent) Harty (Hillsboro HS, IL - '90 - of LA), USA (Soon to be Major Harty...if the DOD is smart)

TYPHOON Regards,
Joe Madagan

Thank you, Adonis! The way I'm sending the announcements now takes me considerably longer, but at least they get where they're going (plus so far I've identified 38 invalid email addies I was carrying!), and I don't feel the need to throw one of my bratty tantrums!

Oh. And I "prolly" will (very reluctantly ) join Facebook in the very near future, although you must know it's against my principles for a variety of reasons.

"I will fight no more forever."

From Dale Parsons ('69) of HI -  07/29/14, 3:11 PM:

Aloha Carol,

Just wanted to let you know I received the email.

--Dale

WOWZERS! Thank you so much for letting me know, Dale! It's great to hear from you!

From John ('59) and     Aretie Gallins Patterson ('59) of TN - 07/29/14, 3:14 PM:

My goodness, it is so good to hear from you. John and I have thought of you so many times. I did not know what happened and worried about you. Have missed getting the newsletters but glad to see they are back.

Take care.

Much love,
John and Aretie Patterson

Thank you so much, John and Aretie! It's certainly good to be operating normally again! The Newsletters, of course, were right there all along; it was just the announcements which were not forthcoming, causing much confusion and consternation to us all!

From Doug Nelson ('64) of VA - 07/29/14, 9:14 PM:

Carol,

I do have the link to your newsletters.  I have had it for years.  I don't need your emails to remind me to look at your newsletters.  I browse at least one each night.  It is a habit I have had for a long time.

I am sorry for your, and your husband's health problems.  I hope they improve quickly.

I still think about those times at NNHS often.

Doug Nelson
Dahlgren, Virginia

Well, bless your sweet heart, Doug! Thank you so much!

Paul needs to have more labs run prior to seeing his kidney specialist on August 22, so we're hoping he can get his high potassium levels to drop back down into a more normal range before then.

As for me, I'm afraid my arthritic damage seems to be irreversible without surgery. I think it's called OLD syndrome.....

From My Husband, Paul Harty (Bardolph HS, IL - '61) of NC - 07/22/14 - "Maxine (#7 in a series of 11)":

     Thanks, Dools!

FINALLY:

From www.ajokeaday.com - 07/28/14:

A doctor worked on the tenth floor of an office building. In the building was a pub, where the doctor had a lemon daiquiri, every day at quitting time. The bartender's name was Dick.

One day Dick found out he didn't have any lemons and no time to get any. So he thought he would make up a hickory daiquiri instead and at the end of the day, the doctor would be too tired to notice.

The doctor sat down, took a sip and said "This isn't a lemon daiquiri, Dick!"

...To which Dick replied, "No, it’s a hickory daiquiri, Doc!"

Right Back Where We Started From

Written by Pierre Tubbs and J. Vincent Edwards

Recorded by Maxine Nightingale (b. 03 Nov 1952), 1975 color="#333333">

Ooo and it's alright and it's comin' 'long
We got to get right back to where we started from
Love is good, love can be strong
We got to get right back to where we started from

Oh-ohhhhh
Do you remember that day
(That sunny day)
When you first came my way
I said no one could take your place
And if you get hurt
(If you get hurt)
By the little things I say
I can put that smile back on your face

Ooo and it's alright and it's comin' 'long
We got to get right back to where we started from
Love is good, love can be strong
We got to get right back to where we started from

A love like ours
(A love like ours)
Can never fade away
You know it's only just begun
You give me your love
(Give me your love)
I just can't stay away
I know that you're the only one

(Chorus)
