Rachel Richey Stall
(d. 14 June 2017)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

   There is more sad if somewhat belated news today. Rachel Richey Stall, wife of David Stall ('58) of VA, passed away in Yorktown on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the age of 76.

From Pat Horton Binder of __ - 07/13/17:

Rachel, beloved wife of David Stall who graduated from NNHS 1958, passed away June 14. Sympathy and condolences to David and their daughter, "little" Rachel.

   Thank you so much for posting this, Pat. When I originally read Rachel's obituary, I was so focused on thinking she must be a distant cousin of mine (as my Richey ancestors were also from South Carolina), that I missed the obvious. I offer my sympathies to the family as well.

Rachel was a dear friend and excellent teacher. I have so many fond memories of her. My late husband called her "Scarlett" because of her delightful southern drawl. My sincere condolences to her family.

My Faith Looks Up to Thee

Words by Ray Palmer, 1830

Music by
Lowell Mason (08 Jan 1792 - 11 Aug 1872), 1832

My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
O let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!

May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
O may my love to Thee,
Pure warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!

While life's dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my Guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow's tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.

When ends life's transient dream,
When death's cold sullen stream
Over me roll;
Blest Savior, then in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul!
