Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
I love Perry Como. I've always loved Perry Como.
BONUS - Catch a Falling Star - Perry Como, 1957
Catch a Falling Star, written by Paul Vance and Lee Pockriss, is a song made famous by Perry Como's hit version, released in 1957. It was Como's last #1 hit, reaching #1 in the Billboard "Most Played By Jockeys" chart but not in the overall top-100, where it reached #2. It was the first single to receive a gold record, on March 14, 1958. The single won Como the 1959 Grammy Award for Best Vocal Performance, Male.
The song has been featured in several films, including The Princess Diaries, Love Actually, Everybody's Fine and Never Been Kissed. It has often been featured in the tv series Lost; it is most often associated with Claire Littleton and could be considered her theme in the series.
"Catch a Falling Star" is a song composed by Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance, and recorded in 1957 by Perry Como. It became the first R.I.A.A.-certified "Gold Record" in 1958 and won Perry Como the award for "Best Vocal Performance, Male" at the first annual Grammy Awards in 1959.

Thanks so much, Linda! With my husband's illness, I'm actually even more dazed and confused than usual, but I've checked and re-checked the three places where I carry such information, the Title Page, the Reunion Page (top AND bottom), and at the bottom of each Newsletter. I've added the new Friday night information to all three, but to save my poor soul, I cannot find anywhere that Elizabeth's name is still appearing. If you can tell me what's appearing in the URL bar of the page with erroneous information, I'll be able to track it down much faster.
Due to my own health issues, I won't be able to join you, but y'all have fun!
