“It is strange to be known so universally and yet to be so lonely.”
Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
I think this hot, muggy, rainy, stormy weather, combined with recent health problems of both my husband and me, has finally put me into a bit of a melancholy mood. Sigh....

BONUS #2 - Have You Ever Been Lonely? - Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves
"Have You Ever Been Lonely?" is a popular song with music by Peter De Rose and lyrics by Billy Hill (writing under the name of George Brown), published in 1932. It has been recorded by many singers, becoming a standard.
Ted Lewis and Ray Noble with vocalist Al Bowlly had successful records in 1933. A small cover war emerged between Jaye P. Morgan and Karen Chandler in 1955. The song was a pop chart entry by the Caravelles, a British girl group, in 1964. An electronically edited duet featuring Jim Reeves and Patsy Cline, who never recorded together while alive, became a top 10 country-western hit in the early 1980s.

BOY HOWDY! Thank you, Patty! I think I'd add to that observe how they react to lost luggage, changes in plans, and especially how they treat waiters and other service personnel.

|You know the humidity is high when it's only
78 and you get sweaty before you even make it to the barn. By the time I
was ready to go back inside I was soaked to the bone, reminiscent of the
time I fell overboard on a fishing trip. It's gonna' be a three shower
kind of day before it is done but, hey, it comes with Florida at this
time of year. The good thing is if we get a nice shower this afternoon,
I'll already be wet so it won't matter. Better yet, if it rains, maybe I
should try a round of golf.

BONUS LONELY KNIT PATTERNS:
|The Lonely Tree Shawl - "...The Lonely Tree Shawl is a lovely Fall weather leaves shawl knit in tweedy worsted weight Loden yarn. A perfect edition to any autumn wardrobe. It’s a simple lace knit that would be good for intermediate level knitters who are comfortable with knitting, purling, and working yarn overs. The name of this shawl has many meanings. I think of it like, when the trees lose their leaves, they are lonely. The shawl also looks like leaves, so in theory you could have stolen the leaves from the tree, making it a lonely tree. OR when the tree loses its leaves, you could knit it a Lonely Tree shawl to make it feel better..." - downloadable pattern is $5.56|
