How Deep Is Your Love?

“When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find
it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see
that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.”

- Khalil Gibran
(06 Jan 1883 - 06 Apr 1931)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

   I like this song.

HEALTH UPDATE:

From The Incomparable Charis Bean Duke (Governor Thomas Johnson HS, MD - '85) of PA - 06/30/14:
...Wow. I am so touched by your love and support. It is humbling. Thank you. And I want you to know that your faith, prayers, and good wishes were not in vain. The doctor removed the left half of my thyroid (the half with the tumor) and sent it to the lab for testing while I was still under. The test came back benign, which was completely unexpected. The doctors felt certain it was cancerous, particularly because of the sonogram results. So he left the other half in and sewed me back up! They will run it through some more tests in the next two days, so there could be some cancer hiding in there, but the doctor was enthusiastic and pleased. As am I. I am home right now because I felt so good they let me leave. I'm not even on any pain meds. I think it's a miracle, and I am grateful beyond words for each and every one of you...

WOWZERONI! What great news! Thank you for letting us know, Charis!

A juggler, driving to his next performance, is stopped by the police. "What are those machetes doing in your car?" asks the cop.

"I juggle them in my act."

"Oh, yeah? Says the doubtful cop. "Let's see you do it.” The juggler gets out and starts tossing and catching the knives. Another man driving by slows down to watch.

"Wow" says the passer-by. "I'm glad I quit drinking. Look at the test they're giving now!

How Deep is Your Love?

Written by Barry (b. 01 Sept 1946), Robin (b. 22 Dec 1949), and Maurice Gibb (22 Dec 1949 – 12 Jan 2003)

Recorded by The Bee Gees, 1977

I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again

And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love
Then you softly leave
And it's me you need to show
How deep is your love?

How deep is your love
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breakin’ us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
You're the light in my deepest, darkest hour
You're my saviour when I fall
And you may not think I care for you
When you know down inside
That I really do

And it's me you need to show
How deep is your love?
How deep is your love
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breakin’ us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

And you come to me on a summer breeze,
Keep me warm in your love
Then you softly leave
And it's me you need to show
How deep is your love?

How deep is your love
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breakin’ us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
