Let the rain kiss you.
Let the rain beat upon your head
with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby.

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
I think there's an excellent
chance that wherever you are today, it's misting, dripping, sprinkling, pouring,
or storming. Of course, that might just be my goofy perception.
Summer Rain - Johnny Rivers, 1967
|"Summer Rain" is a song written by
James Hendricks and performed by
Johnny Rivers on his 1968 LP Realization. Of his several
dozen releases, it is considered his sixth greatest hit internationally.
The song reached No. 14 on the U.S. Billboard
Hot 100, No. 10 on the U.S.
Cash Box Top 100, and No. 10 in Canada in early January,
"Summer Rain" is a song about lifelong love during "the
summer of love." It was released in the winter, remembering the
previous summer. The song twice references
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the
Beatles album which was released during the middle of that year.

Summer rain taps at my window
West wind soft as a sweet dream
My love warm as the sunshine
Sittin' here by me,
she is here by me
She stepped out of the rainbow
Golden hair shinin' like moonglow
Warm lips soft as a soul
Sittin' here by me,
she's here by me
All summer long we spent
dancin' in the sand
And the jukebox kept on playin'
Lonely Hearts Club Band
We sailed into the sunset
Drifted home caught by a gulf stream
Never gave a thought for tomorrow
Just let tomorrow be, now,
let tomorrow be
She wants to live in the Rockies
She says that's where we'll find peace
Settle down, raise up a family
To call our own, yeah,
we'll have a home
All summer long
we spent groovin' in the sand
Everybody kept on playin'
Lonely Hearts Club Band
The snow drifts by my window
North wind blowin' like thunder
Our love's burnin' like fire
And she's here by me, yeah,
she is here with me
Let tomorrow be
