When the Twilight Is Gone

“For age is opportunity no less than youth itself, though in another dress, and as the evening twilight fades away,
the sky is filled with stars, invisible by day.”

- Theodore Roosevelt
(27 Oct 1859 - 6 Jan 1919)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

This theme was first used over two years ago, and (as always) I STILL really like this music that     Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA found for our Newsletter.  The man is a super genius!  (Thanks again, David!)

From Joe Madagan ('57) of FL - 06/26/07 - "Re: 'NASA & THE BIBLE'":

Hi, Carol:
What a small world.
Joyce Lawrence Cahoon ('65) of VA sharing the information on the topic of NASA & The Bible provides this "senior" TYPHOON an opportunity to reply. When Eva (Ellis Madagan - '61 - of FL) and I resided on Bruton Avenue our next door neighbor, who lived on the corner of Bruton Avenue and Harpersville Road in Robinson Terrace was a mathematician at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. I wish that I could recall her name, but it escapes me right now. Her husband was named Thomas and he was a Superintendent with Jordan Construction Company, and built many of the new school buildings on the Peninsula. They were from Tennessee, and she was genius. She was a of the team that used The Bible to account for the variance in time, as they calculated back in time to be certain of their computations. They shared this account long before it was published, and we could all recall being joyous with finding. Science and Holy Scriptures are not in conflict if we could only stand back, and use our sanctified common sense.

TYPHOON Regards,
Joe Madagan ('57) of FL

WOWZERONI!!!  Doncha love it?!? Thanks, Adonis!

  From Dicky Dawes (NNHS/HHS - '62) of VA - 06/26/07 - "Re: 'NASA & THE BIBLE'":

---- Carol

Though I would love for it to be real. In some minds it is not.

God Bless
Dicky

Oh, my!  Well, it just goes to show you, scientific minds and religionist minds are not always in agreement.  And that's what makes life interesting!

Thanks so much for pointing this out to us, Dicky!

From Karrin Williams Frankie (Warwick HS - '61) of VA - 06/26/07 - "Calling all Riverside Hospital Graduates":

I just received this email from a high school classmate to pass on. Please pass onto anyone you think might be a nurse or knows someone so they can have a great reunion. With so many people moving or getting married or re-married after graduation, it is hard to find everyone and emailing is a wonderful tool.

Thanks.

Karrin,

I know you have access to other classes besides our own. We are trying to let as many people know about our reunion as possible. Please forward this if it is not too much trouble.

Riverside School of Professional Nursing is having a Grand Reunion of all classes July 21 and July 22, 2007. There will be a luncheon on Saturday and a tour of the new school campus. Saturday night is open for the individual classes to meet. Sunday there will be a family picnic in NN Park, Jefferson Avenue near Ft. Eustis.

If you are a graduate or know someone who is, please help us get the word out so as many as possible will know and be able to attend. e-mail response or questions to:

rspnalumni@widowmaker.com

You can also e-mail me.

My Prayer

- Jimmy Kennedy and Georges Boulanger

(The Platters)

When the twilight is gone and no songbirds are singing
When the twilight is gone you come into my heart
And here in my heart you will stay while I pray

My prayer is to linger with you
At the end of the day in a dream that's divine
My prayer is a rapture in blue
With the world far away and your lips close to mine

Tonight while our hearts are aglow
Oh tell me the words that I'm longing to know

My prayer and the answer you give
May they still be the same for as long as we live
That you'll always be there at the end of my prayer
