BONUS - Lady In Red - Chris De Burgh, Official Live Video

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lady_in_Red_%28Chris_de_Burgh_song%29

"The Lady in Red" is a song by Irish-British artist Chris de Burgh. It was released in June 1986 as the second single from the album Into the Light. The song was a big hit and reached the number one position in Canada, the UK, Ireland, the Flanders region of Belgium, and Norway. It also reached number three in the United States during the spring of 1987.

The song was written in reference to (though not specifically about) his wife Diane and was released on the album Into the Light. On the British TV series This Is Your Life, de Burgh said that the song was inspired by the memory of when he first saw Diane, and how men so often cannot even remember what their wives were wearing when they first met.[1]

From Bob Allen (June '51) of VA - 06/23/18, 10:35 AM AND 06/24/18, 5:27 PM:

Carol,

Harry Simpson ('54 - of VA) telephoned me this week. The NNHS class of 1953 had a reunion at James River Country Club last weekend. He knew that I have been trying to reach Maryland (Tweetsie) Parker ('52) and her sister, Patty Parker ('54) ( Lloyd Dobbins). He saw both there, and reported that they live in Raleigh, NC. I have had several addresses and telephone numbers for them, but all were dead ends. Do you have anything on these two old girl friends?

I have found both of the sisters--Tweetsie Parker telephoned me today and gave me much information and updated addresses.

What fabulous news! Thanks so much for letting us know, Bob! It's always so very exciting when old friends reconnect!

From Jimmy Hines ('64) of VA - 06/25/18:

Thank you, Santa Jim! Good to know!

From Wayne Agee ('58) of FL - 06/24/18 - "PEARL HARBOR: AFTER THE TOURISTS HAVE LEFT FOR THE DAY":

PEARL HARBOR: AFTER THE TOURISTS HAVE LEFT FOR THE DAY

I believe every American would like to be made aware of this. Please pass it on.

This is what takes place after the tourists have gone for the day. I never knew this.

Thank you, Wayne! It's doubly tragic that a recently detected crack in the supporting structure for the visitor loading ramp has necessitated the indefinite closure of the USS Arizona Memorial, though other areas of the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center remain open.

For the first time in many years, a friend of ours traveled from his rural town to the city to attend a movie.

After buying his ticket he stopped at the concession stand to purchase some popcorn. Handing the attendant $1.50, my friend couldn't help but comment, "The last time I came to the movie, popcorn was only 15 cents."

"Well, sir," the attendant replied with a grin, "You're really going to enjoy yourself. We have sound now."

 The Lady in Red

Words and Music by Chris de Burgh, 1986
(b. 15 Oct 1948)

I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
I have never seen that dress you're wearing
Or the highlights in your head that catch your eyes I have been blind
The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me, It's where I wanna be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never for get, the way you look tonight

I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled, It took my breath away
I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight

The way you look tonight
I never will forget, the way you look tonight
The lady in red
The lady in red
The lady in red
My lady in red (I love you.)
