From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Special_Angel:"My Special Angel" is a popular song by Jimmy Duncan, published in 1957.
The song became a big crossover hit in 1957 for Bobby Helms. "My Special Angel" peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and also spent four weeks at number one on the Country chart . The single made the R&B chart as well peaking at number eight . The backing vocals were sung by the Anita Kerr Singers.
It was revived in 1968 by The Vogues, a vocal group founded in Pennsylvania who had already scored Top 10 hits in the U.S. with the songs "You're the One" and "Five O'Clock World". This cover of "My Special Angel" also reached number seven on the Hot 100 chart ; it fared better on the Easy Listening chart (which would later become known as the Adult Contemporary chart), where it spent two weeks at #1.
In the United Kingdom, a version recorded by Malcolm Vaughan spent 14 weeks on the charts, peaking at #3.

|“True greatness [comes from] the thousands of little deeds and tasks of service and sacrifice that constitute the giving, or losing, of one’s life for others and for the Lord.” (14 Nov 1907 - 03 Mar 1995)|

From Travis Roberts of GA- 06/17/16 - "Our Old Stomping Grounds":
Hope all the locals from Hampton and Newport News enjoy remembering the old hang outs as much as I did recalling those days.
Thanks for including my letter. It helps me feel that I'm not so far from home.. I will be back there soon. Even though the face of it may have changed some with time, it's still a place that I love very much and proud to say it is my home. Want to hear from others when you can.
Have to run for now and dream about Buckroe Beach Amusement Park. lol
GIGGLES! Thank you, Travis!
