NEWPORT NEWS - Christine Goodson Hensel (Tena), 92, a lifelong resident of Newport News, was ushered into heaven on June 9, 2015 with her family at her side. She was a June 1939 graduate of Newport News High School and attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, MO. which is now Evangel University and Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Tena retired from Diamond Air Compressor as office manage after years of service. After retirement, she was a supervisor for Club Demonstration at Costco. She voluntarily served as pianist at Great Oaks Retirement Community for their church services. Her greatest joy came from involvement with her daughters at school when they were young. She served as president of the band parent association for the Typhoon Band at NNHS. As long as she was with and helping family, she was in her element! |

Servant of God, Well Done!
Words by Charles Wesley (28 Dec 1707 - 29 Mar 1788)
(The Methodist Hymnal, 1966, #288)
Wesley wrote this hymn in 1770 on
the occasion of the death of clergyman George White.
Elvey's tune, "Diademata", has been set to several other hymns, notably "Crown
Him with Many Thorns" and "Soldiers of Christ, Arise".
Servant of God, well done!
Thy glorious warfare’s past;
The battle’s fought, the race is won,
And thou art crowned at last.
With saints enthroned on high,
Thou dost thy Lord proclaim,
And still to God salvation cry,
Salvation to the Lamb!
O happy, happy soul!
In ecstasies of praise,
Long as eternal ages roll,
Thou seest Thy Savior’s face.
Redeemed from earth and pain,
Ah! when shall we ascend,
And all in Jesus’ presence reign
With our translated friend?
