½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar

That Was the Week That Was

Theme song from That Was The Week That Was  (1962–63)

Music and Lyrics by Ron Grainer
 (11 Aug 1922 - 21 Feb 1981)

Sung by Millicent Martin (b. 08 June 1934)

That was the week that was,
It's over, let it go.
That was the week that was,
It started way above par,
Finished way below.
That was the week that was,
It's over, let it slide.
That was the week that was,
I took him at his word,
He took me for a ride....

That was the week that was,
It's over, let it go.
That was the week that was,
I've got a lot to say
But nothing left to show.

On Monday he gave me no beautiful things,
On Tuesday, no diamonds,
On Wednesday, no rings,
On Thursday he failed to add gold to my stack,
On Friday, no mink found its way to my back,
Saturday is known to be my best shopping day,
But I soon found out that he
Was giving nothing away.....

That was the week that was,
It's over, let it be.
That was the week that was,
It may have been all right for you,
But not for me.
That was the week that was,
It's over, let it go.
Oh, what a week that was
That was the week that was.....
