From Mickey Spivey ('65) of FL - 06/09/17, 3:57 PM:

Carol, prayer request for me. I have face and neck cancer on my right side near my ear and down to my Adam's apple. I have had two surgeries and now start radiation and chemo next Monday. I actually feel pretty good but being a Christian, I know prayers and God's intervention always help!

Thanks for always being there for all of us old Typhoons. You're the best!

Mickey Spivey

Oh, Mickey, thank you for your kind words, but I'm so sorry to learn of your news! We'll certainly be thinking of you as you undergo these procedures, and praying for your complete and speedy recovery!

"Coincidentally", you've been on my mind all week. As we've been focusing here on our graduations, I couldn't help but recall our own. As you recall, I was seated between you and  Ronnie Phillips. I had been worried that I would break down and cry during the ceremony. I needn't have feared; you and Ronnie kept up such a running banter of hilarious nonsense throughout the evening, that it was all I could do not to laugh out loud often and none too softly. Thank you again so very much for that happy favor and delightful memory!

Happy Birthday today to     Sydney Dearing ('56) of TN AND   the late Eileen Casey Sparkman (Ferguson HS - '68) (deceased 08/16/11)!

As she slid behind the wheel for her first driving lesson, my daughter couldn’t contain her excitement.

"Change the radio station," she said.

The Last Time I Felt Like This

Words by Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman (b. 10 Nov 1929)

Music by Marvin Hamlisch (b. 02 June 1944)
Same Time, Next Year (1978)

Performed by Johnny Mathis (b. 30 Sept 1935) and Jane Olivor (b. 18 May 1947)

Hello, I don't even know your name, but I'm hopin' all the same
This is more than just a simple hello.
Hello, do I smile and look away? No, I think I'll smile and stay
To see where this might go.

'Cause the last time I felt like this, I was falling in love,
Falling and feeling, I'd never fall in love again.
Yes, the last time I felt like this, was long before I knew
What I'm feeling now with you.

Hello, I can't wait till we're alone, somewhere quiet on our own
So that we can fall the rest of the way.
I know that before the night is thru, I'll be talking love to you,
Meaning every word I say.

'Cause the last time I felt like this I was falling in love,
Falling and feeling, I'd never fall in love again.
Yes, the last time I felt like this, was long before I knew
What I'm feeling now with you.

Oh, the last time I felt like this I was falling in love,
Falling and feeling, I'd never fall in love again.
Yes, the last time I felt like this, was long before I knew
What I'm feeling now with you.
