Dear Catherine and Family,
You and the family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you face the loss of your dear Claude. I know you will miss him, as will all of us who loved him. Please know that if there is anything I can do for you all you need to do is call. I guess you know that Claude is probably on the other side telling Wayne "I'm still the best man". I pray that God will comfort you and lift you up during your time of sadness.
Your friend,

I know Claude will be missed in so many ways -- and I know you will hurt for some time. You have to remember those wonderful times together, and all those dreams come true...may his rest be peaceful. Paul

Dear Mrs. Hale,
You and your family have my deepest sympathy. I know you will miss your precious moments with your husband, but take comfort in the words found in the Bible. Please note that the Bible states that God has "a yearning" - an earnest desire to resurrect the dead (Job 14:14,15). How glad we can be that not only is Jehovah God able to bring a person back to life, but he also wants to do it!

  From Catherine Slusser Hudson ('64) of VA - 06/08/08 - "  Claude Hale":

Dear Carol:

Just wanted to thank you for posting the Obituary for my Cousin (Claude Hale) I don't know if his family is aware of your web site, but it is a nice thing that you do keeping up with all the former members of NNHS when they pass and keeping all of us informed. Claude's mother Violet Hale was my father's sister. Dad now lives in Richmond and is 91 and doesn't get around as much as he used to. I will let him know that you posted the Obit.

Thanks again for all the nice things that you do.

Catherine Slusser Hudson

  Oh, wow!  I of course had no way of knowing all that, Cathy, so thank you for telling me.  Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of your loved one.

From Bill Gross ('48) of VA - 06/09/08 - "  Claude Hale":

Claude was a school mate and a great guy.

Bill Gross

   Thank you, Bill.  My sympathies on the loss of your friend.

   Y'all take good care of each other!  TYPHOONS FOREVER! We'll Always Have Buckroe!

O Lord of Life, Where'er They Be

- Lyrics by
Frederick L. Hosmer, 1888; Music by Melchior Vulpius (circa 1560-1615)

O Lord of life, where’er they be,
Safe in Thine own eternity,
Our dead are living unto Thee:
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

All souls are Thine, and here or there
They rest within Thy sheltering care;
One providence alike they share:
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Thy Word is true, Thy ways are just;
Above the requiem, “Dust to dust,”
Shall rise our psalm of grateful trust:
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

O happy they in God who rest,
No more by fear and doubt oppressed,
Living or dying, they are blest:
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
