Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
We have yet another sad edition of the NNHS Newsletter today. Leonard Burton, Sr., father of Margaret Burton Lee ('65) of VA, Dorothy Burton Humphreys of VA ('70?), Leonard Elliott Burton Jr. of MD, Peggie Burton Huffman ('66) of NC, Greg Burton of VA, Janie Burton Bleeker of VA, and Patricia Shertenlieb of VA, has passed away in Newport News at the age of 81.

NEWPORT NEWS - Leonard E. Burton
Sr., 81, of Newport News died June 4, 2007, at home. Mr. Burton was retired
from his seafood business, best known as B.C. Burton & Sons at Little Boat
Harbour. He was a. U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife,
Betty B. Burton; seven children, Margaret Lee of Hampton, Dorothy Humphreys
of Newport News, Leonard Elliott Burton Jr. of Maryland, Peggie Huffman of
North Carolina, Greg Burton of Richmond, Janie Bleeker of Topping, Va., and
Patricia Shertenlieb of Sanford, Va.; 12 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister, Jenning Burton, Ellsworth
Burton and Thelma Swann. A Celebration of Life Service with be held 2 p.m.
Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. The family will
receive friends prior to the funeral from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral
home, and at the Margaret Lee residence, 837 Redheart Drive, Hampton, after
the service. Friends are encouraged to visit

under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave.,
