"The Dance" is a song recorded by country singer Garth Brooks. The song, written by Brooks' friend, Tony Arata, was a key track on his self-titled debut album Garth Brooks and a #1 chart hit. It is considered by many to be Brooks' signature song.
The song is written with a double meaning - both as a love song about the end of a passionate relationship, and a story of someone dying because of something he believes in, after a moment of glory.[original research?]

It's been a productive day and despite the
heat, I got a lot done, but now the time is nearing for the
sinking of the sun when we can rest, refresh and ask for the
grace of the one who is Number One. Be blessed and know that He
loves you and has your back, if only you ask. See you all

A husband came in from the garage. His wife
asked, "What's wrong?"
He replied, "I lost something. I thought I had put it somewhere safe in the garage."
"How many safe places are there in the garage?" she asked.
"Clearly one more than I can remember."
