From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dance_%28Garth_Brooks_song%29:

"The Dance" is a song recorded by country singer Garth Brooks. The song, written by Brooks' friend, Tony Arata, was a key track on his self-titled debut album Garth Brooks and a #1 chart hit. It is considered by many to be Brooks' signature song.

The song is written with a double meaning - both as a love song about the end of a passionate relationship, and a story of someone dying because of something he believes in, after a moment of glory.[original research?]

From Jasmine Dyoco - 05/28/15 - "Make Age Mean More Opportunity for Wonderful Life":

Hi,

I’m a volunteer researcher with EducatorLabs, where we create free curriculum and resource collections for the public to address specific topics and issues.

Currently, inspired by how my 12-year old son was able to teach my 82-year old father how to use the internet, I’m working on building out a senior-oriented resource collection.

Do you have any resource suggestions for us? I looked on this page of your site already: http://www.nnhs65.com/01-07-11-NNHS-Till-There-Was-You-B.html. Are there any other pages you’d recommend?

Here are our favorites so far, which we hope you’ll share with your audience:

From John Patterson ('59) of TN - 05/27/15 - "Flower Delivery":

Flower Delivery

I truly believe in this. How many flowers end up at the funeral home and how many flowers did the passed on person enjoy while they were alive?

Here's an e-flower from me! Too bad you can't smell them! Enjoy your day!

Flower Delivery......

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I'm here, than a whole truckload when I'm gone.

These Are For You !!!

Stop and Smell the Flowers

Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrows keep you Human,
Failures keep you Humble,
Success keeps you Glowing,
But... Only Friends .... Keep You Going !!!

Thank you, my friends, for being a part of my life.

   Thank you so much, John!

The Dance

Written by Tony Arata and Henry Drysdale-Wood

Recorded by
Garth Brooks (b. 07 Feb 1962), 1988/90

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end, the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance;
I could have missed the pain
But I'd 've had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I the king?

But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey, who's to say, you know, I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end; the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance;
I could have missed the pain
But I'd 've had to miss the dance
Yes, my life is better left to chance;
I could have missed the pain
But I'd 've had to miss the dance
